They announced him as the winner before they even finished counting the popular vote. It's not stupid shit at all. Look back at the 2016 election. Trump won the electoral votes there as well, while Hillary won the popular vote. And Hillary did not get the presidency.

No. The electoral college did. They stopped counting the popular vote when he got enough electoral votes

The system itself is working exactly as it's supposed to and that's the problem. It didn't matter about those people that you are referring to not voting. They stopped the count when Trump got the electoral votes. Meaning the popular vote wouldn't have made a difference
