Having contacted them to get a contract going for the non free license before I doubt they actually give a shit about Foss. They literally wouldn't give me a price without knowing how many employees the company I was being outsourced to had. And we wanted to self host so it wasn't even a matter of their costs they literally charge based on what you look like and the schemes were insane they would charge us for amount of active systems and their traffic when we were literally self hosting them

The Amazon equivalent of my country gives somewhat similar estimates, but they always end up showing up at 22:30 or straight up call me at such hours telling me they'll come by tomorrow morning

If you're in a rough part of town martial arts will only serve you to better run away. While disarm techniques are taught in a lot of martial arts if the teacher doesn't put emphasis on them being a last option then you shouldn't go there. As skilled as you might get a blade or a gun is not something you can engage in hand to hand fighting really and even if you manage to disarm the attacker you'll probably get stabbed or take a bullet for your troubles.

Martial arts are more useful as a good sport and for scaring away high school bullies. Life is not a movie, the rules of engagement are incapacitate and run away

Doesn't most cheapo aluminum have iron mixed in to make it more affordable? I worked at a machine shop a couple of months and I remember the shitty castings downright having iron bubbles inside them

Maybe Im just tired of games in general, bg3 was the kind of game I wanted to inmerse myself in but I couldn't be bothered to read about random lore, I just kept going through the motions doing multiple playthroughs with different classes, alignments and love interests but that's as far as I was able to get into it.

Which to be fair is still very deep but it's not the same process of discovery it was when I was a kid anymore

Let me put it this way, when the games came out I would read every codex entry and mission description and do multiple playthroughs to see every possible scene, I have like 3k hours combined between the three games on record.

I know the lemmy hivemind jumps at any opportunity to trash reddit, but if properly implemented (which to be honest they probably won't ) this could be the same as paid forums back in the day. It just depends on how much of a cut they get and how do they manage revenue share. If you could have your own private forum for free and have people subscribe to it for 2 bucks a month and you get 75% revenue of every sub it would probably spring a lot of high value forums, I'm mostly thinking like car forums used to be but it'd probably be used as another only fans
