    1. Yes, like people often do on social media.
    2. You didnt have to use your real name on social media until relatively recently, and depending on platform.
    3. Yes, Like I said, filters.
    4. Both are persistent, and both have breaking news
    5. People who want everyone to know their personal updates, post them everywhere.
    6. There is tons of social networking on sites like reddit, Lemmy probably less so. but only because its relatively recent in the zeitgeist.
  • Congrats, You've been blessed with good luck.

Doesnt invalidate other people (like me) who have had tons of trouble with trying to get nvidia cards working/nvidia drivers installed over the years. Even with new distros that bake the drivers in, like Pop!, I still had issues and and headaches that ultimately made it not worth the effort.

  • Disagree, politely.. Not in the "OMG INTERNET DISAGREEMENT I HOPE YOUR MOTHER GETS FUCKED BY A HORSE!" way.

Reddit/Lemmy/Etc are nothing more than slightly more elaborate twitter with better filtering/catagorization. Social media all the way down.

But its its not a major issue, so its not like we need to invest time in a slapfight over whose wrong and whose right.

  • I buy it on steam, because downloading the individual game installer files is annoying, and GOG Galaxy never worked right for me on windows.

On Linux, however, Lutris has good GOG integration, so I can just log into my GOG account via Lutris and install literally every game I own (which I have like 100 on gog) without much issue now.

  • They do make it easy to give them money.

They just don't want unstable scam bullshit where they have to go through the slog of going to an exchange, selling the coin, and cashing out.. hoping all the while it doesnt crash in the mean time. Everyone tried to cash in on it when it was hot, before the vast majority knew or realized that crypto was nothing but a pump and dump scam, and they all dropped it due to instability and the fact that its a scam.

  • I view forums as the middle era of the internet.

Th early era was chatrooms, the middle era was forums, and the late era, which we are in now, is all social media.

I miss the middle era of the internet. Forums were a blast. You could really build a community with those things.

  • he said he supported unions, but doesnt want a union at his business.

he said we should call out bad companies, until its his company thats being called out.

Says he cares about employees, but ignores sexual harassment, abuse, and overworks them beyond capacity.

He says a lot of shit, until hes on the receiving end of it.

  • Yep, he got caught with his manipulative word play this time by GN, but it also gives context for everything he's said in the past and puts new light on them, because this isnt something people just wake up and decide to do one day. Its something they do their entire life.

  • in one of the WAN shows he went on a big handwringing tirade about how "unions means I'm a failure as an employer" with undertones of "You wouldnt want to make me a failure by unionizing, right?"

  • Just imagine how bad it is, behind closed doors and with the Cameras off, considering what the employees said in that LTT employee opinion video on camera, that GN repeatedly referenced, that they were over worked and didnt have time to make anything right.
