  • Because it's not legal and no one's going to develop software for XP. Someone could make and sell security patches for it, but the type of person who still runs XP either doesn't care enough to buy security patches or it's running some hardware that isn't connected to the internet.

There are exactly two games released in the past few years that have XP support, but that was more a flex on the part of the developer then catering to the market. HROT and Zortch are those games if you're curious.

  • I don't believe he is. I know people like that. They fake understanding what's going on, but can't maintain a thought for very long. During Trump's first term, his aids figured out that they would need to be the last person to talk to him because he quickly forgot the previous discussion.

  • Not everyone watches or even can watch the same media. It assumes a lot of commonality between the writer and the reader. Is some Indian researcher going to know about some joke from The Office?

  • Dianne Feinstein is the more egregious example.

What happens is is that these congressman build a circle of aids who handle all the real work while they campaign. Those aids develop working relationships with other aids. The more senior, the more influence they have. It quickly gets to the point when the politician themselves are just a figurehead and the aids don't want to start over with a new one, so they just wheel their host around.

Trump is well into the category where he's just being lead around by his handlers.

  • I have a couple friend groups, so I'm safe, but two of them are terrible replying to messages or following up on commitments. I understand that people can be busy, but don't say that you'll be online later and then never show up. I've decided to refocus my attention on the friends who do reply to messages.

  • I'm gonna have to keep saying this, but if you know you're hours away from being fired, you can quit and make the first statement on the matter. That way, you control the narrative. If they got fired, they'd just be another static.

  • I'm guessing you've never seen a car getting prepped for new paint then. The panels are sanded down and bare metal is showing. This is probably going to get painted this weekend. Not everyone has two cars, so they're driving this around while in the mean time.

  • It sounds like you were being an ass for a while and you're recent comments were the breaking point.

I'm a negative person, but I try to reign it when communicating with other people. When I do have to vent, I tend to get support because I'm not being an emotional vampire to those people.

I have some other people in my life who do nothing but complain and I keep them at an arms distance. I feel worse being around them. I do not care about their petty problems.
