  • This bothers me a bit, too, but then I remind myself about my former co-worker who almost died when somebody slammed into him at 45 mph while he was stopped behind another car, slamming his face into the steering wheel before the airbag even had a chance to deploy, then slamming his car into the back of the one in front of him.

I usually leave a little extra room ever since that happened. I'll always remember seeing his busted up face and broken teeth.

  • This was me just yesterday. Some one-third of all people have the gene that makes it taste like soap (or I guess, to you, bugs). Why would you be putting that everywhere and not mentioning it?! It is frustratingly common.

  • We used to make peppermint sun tea when I was a kid. Put a bunch of peppermint and water in a glass jar. Stick it in a sunny spot for a while. Enjoy. (Can add sugar if that's your thing.)

  • This isn't what you're asking, but since your question has been answered, and this might actually be helpful for you:

Sorry for asking something that boils down to "please help me with my homework" but I'm at a loss.

You should put a comma before "but". Like so:

Sorry for asking something that boils down to "please help me with my homework", but I'm at a loss.

A comma is required when you are separating clauses which would be complete sentences. "I'm at a loss" is a complete sentence, so there should be a comma before the "but".

  • I sent an email to a professor three or so days before an assignment would be coming due asking for any extension I could get because I had to travel out of state for surgery.

    He said no.

Can't recommend Seattle University. Probably should have reported him. Seemed like a nice school otherwise.
