  • The thing that everyone ITT seems to be forgetting is that while yes making rice or beans or something similar can be cheap and also very filling. When someone is working 40+ hours a week at multiple jobs to keep a roof over their heads, depression is inevitable. Living paycheck to paycheck is stressful, anxiety inducing, and depressing. So when someone is exhausted and depressed, sometimes all they have the energy for is to pour a bowl of cereal, because anything beyond that is just too much.

  • But Dixon wrote, rather cryptically, that remaining employees will put “more emphasis on our social channels as we accelerate our discussion with partners to take our content to where it will be viewed most broadly.”

In other words, the in depth reporting and niche shows aren't making enough money, so we're going to dump all that shit and jump on the reality TV bandwagon.

  • "It's true what they say, cops and women don't mix. It's like eating a spoonful of Drano; sure it'll clean you out, but it'll leave you hollow inside"

I loved the Naked Gun movies.

The Hot Shots movies were funny too.

  • ....but nowhere near the amount and quality of gaming in, say, the NES days where there are more high quality games on that single console than there has been on every console in the last 15 or so years.

Now lets not romanticize older systems. As someone who grew up playing the original NES, I agree the console had a MASSIVE library of games in its hayday, but I would say less than half of them were even worth a shit. But you're right, current consoles are simply leaning hard on "Look at how pretty it is" rather than actual quality gameplay.

  • Yupp

    Jump
  • Which is why most cop shows function as authoritarian propaganda.

Exactly!! I mean why else do you think Law & Order:SVU has been on the air for like fucking 30 seasons? Its not because of Ice-T's incredible acting ability, thats for sure...

  • I'm emotionally in a bad place from years of emotional abuse (as a child and an adult). I struggle with ADHD, major depression, and anxiety. I'm unemployed and desperate for a career change. My marriage is in the shitter and I have no friends or family to lean on for anything. I'm all alone....

  • Ditto!!

Brian Kemp should have never been allowed to step foot in the GA governors office in the first fucking place. Especially after he was allowed to oversee his own election as Lt Gov, somehow "lost" hundreds of thousands of voter registration applications prior to his own election, and intentionally deleted voting machine data when it was subpoenaed by the courts during the fallout from that election. The man is a corrupt piece of shit, so of course he would align with another corrupt piece of shit.

  • I have a question for the author of this stupid fucking article. What the fuck do you think half of the artists on the planet do? They use copyrighted images as reference when drawing fictional characters and they often end up looking very similar to the original. There are thousands of people on social media that sell these drawings on a regular basis.

  • Ding!! The ruling class used Trump to weaponize bigotry.

Whats fucked up is as I've watched all of this unfold, I can't help but briefly entertain the idea that those fuckers all decided to do their own version of Richmond Valentine's Plan from Kingsman:

When you get a virus, you get a fever. That's the human body raising its core temperature to kill the virus. Planet Earth works the same way: global warming is the fever, mankind is the virus. We're making our planet sick. A cull is our only hope. If we don't reduce our population ourselves, there's only one or two ways this can go: the host kills the virus, or the virus kills the host. Either way...

  • See I'm a younger GenXer and I'd have to agree with this 100%. Except the only addition for me would be there wasn't even anyone around to tell me about the lemons, just a note left on the table vaguely mentioning them.

  • Yeah, I've lost count how many times I click on a show to potentially watch and see that its from like 3 or 4 years ago and has only 1 season. I immediately move on and don't even bother at that point.
