Nice to see more SteamOS systems, hopefully Valve plays it smart and we don't lose the benefits of the current Steam Deck by having more systems which are wildly more powerful than it. That way developers still have the Steam Deck as a stable target spec wise.
It's because right wing people are simping for and sticking up for Israel, and the IDF. Notice how in the Article it's LibsOfTikTok who's calling out the game and encouraging its removal from Steam?
Edit: For people not in the know LibsOfTikTok is an alt-right American internet personality, and also apparently a news curator now. They push a lot of anti-trans hate and alt-right talking points on Twitter, and they're probably a terrorist too.
Yeah I do remember those things, it was a cool idea, slightly janky at the time and their expectation for others to develop games natively for linux was a bit too bold, but it was very good for what it was.
I will say that what we have with the Steam Deck and even unofficial Steam OS is way better in every way imaginable though. I imagine if Valve released Steam Consoles now, they'd be a smash hit, because as it is, there isn't very much out there for people who are looking to get into PC gaming on a budget, and Living room gaming on PC is fiddly and clunky. SteamOS and Steam machines solve both of those problems.
It almost certainly won't be like last time considering how far Proton has come and given the popularity of the Steam Deck. I imagine that a Mini PC home console with Steam OS from Valve would do the PC gaming market a lot of good since it would act as a stable piece of hardware for Devs to target and optimize for. Since as it currently is, PC gaming hardware evolves and progresses way too fast.
That is true, in places where everyone are assholes it's harder to be nice. Though I still maintain that people are responsible for their own behavior and not being assholes themselves, even if it seems hard. Other people's behavior isn't an excuse.
That's why I say they should be AMD mini PCs, since Nvidia has issues with Steam Gamescope and big picture. Also the mini PCs with an integrated AMD APU are far more compact, more ideal for a Living room setup that'll have to fit in an entertainment center, or even behind the TV in the case of Wall mounted setups.
Or literally anyone who knows you. It's based on the idea that strangers are the ones who will try to screw you over but everyone knows that it's people who you know that end up screwing you over in most cases. So security questions are basically useless in all those cases.
This is awesome, hopefully this means we might get new living room Steam Machines in the future. That would be very cool. I know you can build your own by getting a cheap AMD mini PC and installing unofficial Steam OS on it but it would be nice to have the real deal with an official Steam OS version.
Wow, if someone just sent me the text of the article I'd think this was made up for attention. The only way I know this actually exists and wasn't a made up story is because it is the verge and also because the trailers and other media are out there showing it.
I think it's different when it's Garry the creator of the game, versus some random modder giving themselves permissions over a game simply because they made that mod. In the case of the random modder many would see it as cheating.
Yeah there are horrible people everywhere, where you live doesn't have as much correlation with how much of an awful person you are as some people might think. These people aren't awful because of their nationality but because they are awful disgusting people.
And while the other guy may not be a Russian (at least he doesn't admit it) he's still a pretty awful person. One of his most recent post replies is talking about how great killing LGBT people would be, and how he'd be for that since it would "destroy the LGBT in small parts" and somehow lead to "fully destroying LGBT".
That's honestly stupid of them to try that, they should know they'd get banned quickly for doing that. It's not like we can't figure it out pretty easily even if they try to obfuscate it, Steam emulators exist that can be used to find that kind of behavior even if you couldn't decompile to see it.
I mostly picked these because they were the only ones I've played that were released this year, or are Steam Games to begin with in general.
I picked Flock for Outstanding style because I think it has awesome visual style. I also picked it for best game on Steam Deck because it plays very well on Deck and I play it almost exclusively on my Steam Deck. I've also never really played a game like it so I feel it is a very innovative game. Hence innovative game-play nomination.
For better with Friends I picked Webfishing because it is honestly better with friends and isn't as much fun to play alone. I also chose it for Sit back and relax because it's a relaxing game.
I picked OneShot WME for best soundtrack and outstanding story because honestly it has an amazing soundtrack and story, even though it is a remaster of an old game.
I picked Journey as Labor of love because it's one of the most beautiful games I've played.
The ones I picked at random are ones I haven't played yet or even own, I just tried to pick ones that were on my Watchlist or that looked like okay games.
I'm not sure I'm following, what was the technological leap here? I know that the SD, SDHC, SDXC, etc. are marketing terms and their limitations are based on other factors, much of the previous ones are file system related.
I mean why change what's already great. Works on the Deck, would be just as great as a controller, if not better since it can be used with anything, not just the Deck.
Maybe they used to be, but they certainly aren't anymore.
