Is BitTorrent still relevant in the Modern Era?
That would be very cool, I know we have onion sites that operate on the Tor network that use keypairs for the domains, but the sites themselves are still centrally hosted by a person, anonymously hosted but still centrally hosted.
If only he realized that this can actually happen, trans men who still retain their uterus and ovaries are fully capable of getting pregnant and giving birth.
I mean it's also very much possible for people who are trans men, and not much more difficult than it is for cis women (not to say childbirth isn't difficult, it's one of the most painful and difficult things a person can go through).
Most people do not even truly know just how much of an abusive troll drag really is. I've already posted about it multiple times, and I'll add it here if I have to, but I was harassed directly by an alt of that user, which included porn in my DMs, insults, bad faith accusations, encouragement of suicide, and even death threats (combined with a request to admins to give out my IP).
I'm almost completely certain dragonfucker was behind this harassment and abusive behavior towards me. It happened almost immediately after I responded to one of dragonfucker's posts, that dragonfucker did not like and also wasn't well received by the community (ended up getting removed) the post itself was ironically an accusation towards me of harassment. Very sus indeed.
Then there's the whole thing where dragonfucker encouraged trans people to kill red hats before committing suicide, basically encouraging suicide and murder. Then there was dragonfucker's harassment towards @FlyingSquid@lemmy.world which isn't talked about often if at all but was really shitty, and I watched it happen in front of me.
I actually asked someone if by this same logic playing cards should be considered "gambling materials" and they said yes. So even though it's absurd I think there are a good amount of brainwashed or stupid people who believe it.
I didn't even know you could get a USB C mod for the PS4 controller. I just bought a dualsense controller for the games on PC I needed motion controls in (can't use an Xbox gamepad in those) since it uses USB C and I didn't want to buy a controller I couldn't charge with my other cables.
It's what people usually say to others who don't or can't convince themselves to like something which is shit because its expensive. I had a friend who was like that with caviar and insisted that my taste wasn't "refined" because I wasn't willing to convince myself that the $200 dollar made it not taste and smell like cat food (which it absolutely still did), I enjoy fish but I do not like caviar, it smells and tastes like cat food smells like. Even if it's $2000 I'm not going to enjoy it, I'm just going to be bummed I wasted money better spent on something much more enjoyable in higher quantity.
That’s what having a “developed taste” means. Yeah it’s all opinions, but you can’t even know what your opinion is of something unless you try it, and you can’t develop an in-depth opinion of something unless you’ve tried a whole bunch of similar somethings.
I understand that and agree, but please also understand that when someone dismisses your opinion of something like mine with caviar by saying your pallet is unrefined, they're not saying you haven't experienced enough, they're chastising you for not pretending to like it the way they do. Which is what my comment addresses, because they're not telling you you need to experience new things to get a better understanding, they're saying that their opinion is the correct one objectively and not just their opinion.

This is shit that food snobs tell people to make them feel bad for liking what they like. The foods people like are personal opinions, not fact. There aren't right and wrong things to like.
Oh and some food being expensive doesn't mean it is good, it just means it's expensive, it can still be shitty and suck, even if others delude themselves into thinking it's good because $$$

Most of what we do here regarding AI is FOSS AI using community run or self-hosted generators. None of the corporate AI bullshit like you sometimes see elsewhere.
Regardless if you still don't like it and don't want to be part of it, then it's no big deal, just block or ignore the communities which are dedicated to AI stuff. The only thing you really shouldn't do in regards to that is Anti-AI trolling, like attacking people who do like it, or making bad-faith comparisons or accusations. If you don't like it just don't engage with it.
I checked their URLs and they do indeed link to the imgur images, not the main posts themselves, so it seems like the server is having trouble with imgur images.
I have little faith that they will, at least not before eroding the meaning of the term completely, to the point people find being called antisemitic or an antisemite to not carry any weight, and just be a meaningless insult like "butthead" or "peabrain" something you say to try and make people feel bad or dumb, but doesn't have any real meaning. It might also be seen as a way to silence real dissent against horrible things, and that's even worse because it means people not only won't take it seriously, they'd consider the people saying it, even ones using it legitimately, to be trying to enact suppression.
Ultimately what they are doing is very bad and has negative long-term consequences, which they seem to be blatantly neglecting or disregarding.
They're going to learn that you can't just say antisemite to shut people up or make them scared. Words have meaning and if you disregard their meaning and use them too aggressively, they lose their meaning, as well as the power associated with them.
Back in the day, antisemite was an awful accusation which made someone look awful, literally equating them to a nazi. Nowadays it's anyone who supports palestine. So if someone calls me an antisemite these days for being against genocide and occupation of Palestine, I'm just going to laugh at them because they're a chud who can't be taken seriously.

Anything is ableist if that's the intention is to be ableist. "Cognitive impairment" or "Brain damage" are clinical terms, but if one decides they can also be ableist insults.

The first one is a bummer. But the second two if you know how to fully utilize them can be extremely useful.
Yeah basically, though they were also filled with transphobic and racist memes. Probably more like a (semi) federated 4chan clone. Or Steam forums but on the Fediverse.
This seems like a dumb question, BitTorrent absolutely is still relevant and probably the most popular method of file sharing in the scene. Foss groups use it too for distributing ISO files for Operating systems, and it might even be used as the video hosting provider in future Fediverse YouTube alternatives (I've heard talk of a video hosting platform on Fedi which uses activitypub for everything else but hosts videos via BitTorrent) pretty cool stuff.
So yeah BitTorrent is still relevant, and it makes sense since if it isn't broken why fix it? Not to say that it couldn't be better, the biggest problem with it is the anonymity issue, but until someone makes something better BitTorrent will continue to be popular, and the ideal choice for decentralized file sharing, especially in the piracy scene.
