  • Probably. That or Trump is happy to take the money and stiff them like he does contractors. Still though for an article claiming cases are being dropped writing multiple paragraphs about Google, who is not having they're cases dropped (again please correct me if I'm wrong), this seems wildly dishonest. I know Zuckerberg had to testify recently about Facebooks trial too but afaik that's not being dropped either?

  • To reach legion-level before the apocalypse

That is so psychotic. Me and most of my peers don't want to have kids because of the state of the world. Meanwhile he wants as many as possible... to suffer? And it's not like he's sharing his fortune with them based on what I've read. He literally just wants them so they can die in the apocalypse? Does he know what an apocalypse is??

  • I had pretty much the same experience as that user and it's why I left lemm.ee when they decided not to defederate with some of the worst instances. Was about to go back to the search if lemmy.world wasn't any better. Tankies are why I don't recommend Lemmy to my friends anymore. They are the fediverse's biggest problem

  • I came to Lemmy (lemm.ee originally) with this attitude. Tankies really made me regret trying to be sympathetic too them. It was the most vile interaction I've had on the Internet maybe? You shouldn't call people tankies if they're not but real tankies are by far the biggest problem with the fediverse and it's growth

  • I'm warning that there is a domino effect of the markets failing that could have left you homeless in that exact situation. It's literally what you're describing. This will push people from balancing in the edge to falling over it. Markets collapsing means jobs loses and hardships for the working class as well. So yes everyone should care and be as prepared as possible when we enter a recession. Pretending this isn't going to effect people working paycheck to paycheck is only going to help leave people unprepared when the ripple effects them. It's not awful to warn people of a disaster and I resent the accusation

  • I lived in the rust belt for over a decade and have spent the vast majority of my life in a very conservative district. I literally know farmers personally. I promise you I know what life is like for many of these people. It's nice to think that we could push or pull them but they're as willfully deluded as it gets. The number of people I know that could barely afford gas to get to work and then continue to vote Republican in deep red districts for decades as they stripped them of any kind of benefit is insane. There is no reaching out to them they already rejected reality. I've had so many conversations with individuals about politics in these areas and you can see them rejecting reality when you point out examples from their real life. They can help being uninformed and choose every day not to. They know the politicians they voted for took they're benefits and they're going to vote for them again because that's easier than facing the reality that they made their own bed. Trying to reach out to them is why the Dems are pushing right and trying to coax Republicans to their side and the willful indoctrination is why that has not, and never will, work. These are proudly ignorant people
