They're taking the bait again, FFS. This is exactly plays into the dismantling process set forth by Trump and DOGE.

Though there's a law to ensure that Fed employees get back pay to cover the time of a shutdown, what happens when it's prolonged? How long can a middle class family support not being paid in the meantime?

Which can hold out longer, the rich and mega-rich ruling class, or middle class families that are already saddled with inflation and job loss in a saturated market?

This will be the functional equivalent of starving out defenders in a castle.

Full disclosure: I was in my mid 20's and a factory worker in the later 90's, so I had a little more cash to afford my hobby. It still hurt though.

The entirety of my career was founded on my ability to build stable network and systems to run Duke Nukem 3d at lan parties using 10base2 networks and Rendition Verite video cards with a side of 3dfx.

This is what's called a "diamond" in the vehicle's unibody frame structure. This car has likely been in a frontend accident that was bad enough to shift one rail back far enough that the entire chassis is out of square in a big way. The tires, bearings, suspension linkages and other parts are wearing way faster and it won't have a long life on the road. Shitty insurance policy, body shops, and ignorant (and broke) buyers keep these sleds on the road. I can almost guarantee that the airbags in that heap are blown and weren't replaced. This shiz shouldn't be allowed on the road.
