  • This might be a function of low usage time, the shifts were definitely more pronounced in the beginning, now when I listen to new stuff it only introduces the changes in the appropriate mixes (i.e my mix 1-3 is various hiphop (very well segregated into different styles i must add), 4,5 is indie/rock etc) and the amount is a function of how much of said new stuff i listen. On occasion i will use votes and the dislikes especially affect playlists quickly.

I know the youtube behaviour you refer to and it honestly really makes me hate watching youtube, some days I will have a bad mood and start spamming not interested for a few rows and my feed is good again.

But with YTM it seems to be really nice, whereas with spotify, as OP, I found it quite stale.

  • One of the main reasons I stuck with YouTube Music is that I find the algorhitms superior to spotify. Maybe this is placebo, but I think between the 7 mixes + discovery + artist / song radio I always have something that does not feel the same, and I feel like any intentionally searched listening updates the mixes fairly quickly.

  • I mean…

Most people will just do one specialised set of tasks for their whole lives. And reproduction definitely has strong physiological drives, there is a reason for phrases such as “thinking with his dick”.

An ant society is in fact very profound in many ways, they are eusocial, which means that any single individual truly works for the good of everyone and is willing to give up their lives without hesitation to protect the colony. Such level of cooperation is probably unfathomable in humans.

  • Don’t like them, they are annoying to deal with - CLI naming is odd, files are stored unintuitively and if your whole system is not on flatpak, chances are the sizes are going to be absurd. One of the main reasons I wen’t with Arch is Pacman + AUR, never have to install a flatpak, because the package management is so good.

  • There were hardly people here who are James LeBron level when it comes to WoW, a lot of them are in fact closer to hobbyists and the tournament itself was not even close to NBA level. Both chess and basketball have hobby level tournaments that have prize money on the line.

  • They had a month to level to 60 and gear up, most normal people aren’t into wasting a month to enter a tournament with practically no odds of getting anything. If you die in the tournament your character is done, so naturally the contestants are largely going to be people with some confidence and time to spare.

  • The point is to make adblocking so tedious that only fairly tech literate people would do it. That cousin whose pc you set up and installed uBO on? They won’t figure out how to update the filters, they will just whitelist (or realistically just turn off uBO) or premium.

Basically nobody will actually abandon YT over this and those who do will be so low in numbers it is ~0 to YT.

  • Pressure would play little role here, generally it would increas peripheral resistance as well as pressure inside the chest cavity, prompting the heart to work harder. However I doubt at a regular water immersion in a hot tub causes a noticeable effect.

Then heat causes your blood vessels to dilate in an attempt to dump the heat outside, because you are in a hottub this will end up warming your core, which will also dilate more blood vessels inside as well as raising your resting heart rate.

The net effect is slightly faster heart rate (still usually under 100, so not even in light excercise teritory yet, more like walking teritory) with a lower blood pressure.

None of this is close to wrecking havoc, yet the initial drop from getting in quickly can be fast enough, that with a high enough vagal tone (i.e perfect storm of other situations - tired, dehydrated, intoxicated, chronically tired or w/e) you could temporarily pass out. Analogous to someone passing out from getting up too quickly.

  • I don’t sail the high seas much these says, I did when I was a broke college student unable to afford full priced titles. Now my time is limited, my funds less so, so I rather just give the little spare time and money to projects I actually can get behind. Also I don’t think I want to fuck around with running pirated versions in linux, might be a PITA.

Observing Starfields failures have rekindled my interest in Elite:Dangerous and No Mans Sky.

  • Now mind you, everything I write might be wrong, I am out of my depth here.

But as I understand a BTRFS snapshot is simply a (subvolume in which you will find) copy of the table that points to the actual files or, rather, blocks on your drive. As long as a table exists that points to a block, this block will persist.

The nature of BTRFS is Copy-on-Write so in your active snapshot, when you modify a file / block, a copy of it is created with the new version, referencing this new block on the filesystem table.

This is why BTRFS snapshots are fast and take little space by themselves, you do not need to actually copy all the data at the moment of creating the backup, rather when the data is modified and only that data.

  • Judging by the coverage of Starfield, Bethesda should not be allowed to do ‘hands-off’ development. They release a broken buggy and incomplete mess, then let the modding community finish it for free. I mean maybe from a business perspective that was a good move, can afford to drop some devs and reduce dev time I guess.

But even though Starfield roughly combines the genres I am most interested in, there is no way I am buying it until (if) it goes on a sale for around 10 bucks.

  • I mean, it might be a wayland issue, sure. And I am not saying wayland as a whole is perfect, I am just saying I don’t feel I generally have experienced nvidia + wayland problems as opposed to just wayland problems.

Although I did concede that I did have an electron issue which turns out was an NV + W issue and I just didn’t know.

I use FF and had no issues on either KDE, Hypr or GNOME, as well as used KDE around 2 months ago and didn’t notice any right click problems, so I imagine whatever it was got fixed since you tried it.

  • He could develop toxic cardiomyopathy, but it is not that acute, and while it can in late stages cause dangerous arrhythmias, which some would conflate under “heart attacks”, a cardiomyopathy that advanced would also mean he is out of breath climbing up a flight of stairs, so probably no pickleball.
