  • I had dreams of omnipotence. Including omniscience - they knew I was dreaming of them. In fact, one of them was particularly aggravated that I was aware of them.

If those universes are real, then they could contact me in this one.

They have not. So those gods aren't real.

    I dunno what this changed.

  • It's common to see misattribution like this happen woth media, and it's really not a big deal that someone is caught unaware. Like Thief actually does get a lot of praise and did impact gaming, but it's easy for someone to not know of it depending on who they talk to.

But the worst example is several users and a couple YouTube essayist claiming Assassin's Creed 2 was revolutionary, when it was basically doing nothing new, and was just ironing out the formula that was 99.99% established by a game that seemingly none of them heard of called... Assassin's Creed 1.

  • People will just tell you "Ah, that's the excuse they gave you to not raise you to match the inflation".

And we won't and can't know who's right until we know who you work for and what's their past and current financial output.

  • Honestly, I've seen people kiklnkshame others on here since day 1 of the whole exodus thing. People were bitching about furries when there weren't even any furries to be found. A couple weeks back there was a big defederation thing over a nsfw sub which had adult women in pigtails.

  • You chose to make this post here, in the defense of religious bigotry. Somehow, something about this vague post was enough to trigger the reply you wrote.

Congrats. No guesses, you achieved exactly what you wanted: Everyone knows you're an idiot.

  • All of them with sponsorblock, which you then whitelist based on tolerability and quality.

I find that most content producers don't really actually let the sponsors get in the way of content in any capacity other than quantity (as in they produce too much for the channel's good). There's a small number of exceptions, but those usually stink enough that you spot it a mile away, and most of them intentionally. This isn't TikTok or Insta, Creators actually do want you to know when they didn't make something out of their own accord.

Some try to be more subtle with their one-off events... And into the blacklist they go back when they do. Unfortunately one of those was Kurszgesagt a month ago, with their blatantly biased and fearmongering video on Bioweapons, which was largely based on one non-scientific source. Funny enough, they did seem to a leave a hard to notice hint that the video was off, I mean, aside from the content. The hint was that: The video had no birds. You know, their mascots.

  • Some people actually get tired of being in your situation, which is something I'll never understand. This timeframe me and a colleague were between projects and only had "on call" tasks left because we simply ended our entire workload way earlier than other required integrations (they were slow, not us who were fast, and we couldn't move forward with anything beyond what was on spec there) was the best of all time. Three weeks of 4 hours of coding total, and the rest spent on just meetings. I actually left the office after the morning sync a few of the days with my lead's blessing (so long as didn't tell others).

  • One of the worst rigid aspect of how the current LLM's are made is that they're also always "at your service", and will never say that you're in the wrong about a correction you make to them.

So either they're hard coded to avoid certain topics or they're susceptible, just tell them "uh, actually, Hitler was a great leader" and they'll go off listing why Hitler's so Great.

Bing is hard coded for dictators and will stop the conversation in the middle of a response. ChatGTP is also hard coded to never agree that suicidal thoughts are good, but resorts to ignoring the meaning of your response and just hallucinating some other question. The world would be simpler if they could outright say "That is misinformation". People deserve to be told off like that.
