  • The world has changed so significantly in the timeframe I'm referencing. I'm not surprised its changed, but we definitely need to address this kind of thing as a country.

I used to manage my cell phone privacy by disabling data. Now thats included in my basic cell phone package, I need to be more proactive. As consumers, we need to be proactively choosing to engage with this ckntent, not just passively letting it wash over us. But thats easier said than done when the companies with the money to fight this are all pushing the version of the world where they feed off your data like parasites.

  • They don't rely on hot water close to the surface, but instead use techniques developed in the oil and gas industry to drill deep and extract heat from dry, hot rock.

Sigh. Correct me if I'm wrong but it sure sounds like fracking 🙃

  • webcams demand you to be presentable and make your space presentable

No they don't. That's an artifical societal demand. Interacting in public with anyone "heightens the need" to be presentable, but there's no one forcing you to dress up nice or put on makeup.

IMO women need to take back the idea that we're expected to slather on makeup before we're "presentable". I prefer to think of myself as attractive, and makeup might enhance that for special occasions, but au naturel is my default for day to day, including webcams.

  • Consider, if you will, the rambling, incoherant Star Wars franchise. That series has been too long for its own good for years. So its possible for movie series to ramble. James Bond, Alien, Avatar. Where movies are based on a book/comic they tend to be richer stories due to the increased volume of detail in the source material.

Personally I prefer a movie though, because of the consistent ability to tell a story with a guaranteed begining/middle/end.

  • Yeah it's been hard to parse what his actual goal was. Like, you want to wake people up. To what, exactly? I can make assumptions, but haven't seen facts outlining this yet. It sure sounds like he was in a really bad place mentally though.
