  • Oh yes, the lie about liberal media. I was very confused during AOTUS's last administration about all the talk in regards to liberal media. There is no mainstream far left outlet. There is not even a popular left leaning news outlet. They often cited CNN and that is a joke.

I don't consume American propaganda and I live in the states. The talking heads never talk about what is really going on, they omit the important details, and they non-stop bootlick corporations.

  • The majority of our media outlets are not covering any dissent about Trump. All major social media companies are censoring negative information about Trump. This is purposeful and blatant. The media is most definitely helping this administration to manufacture consent.

This is nothing new though as the media has helped project bizarre concepts like the US is the defender of democracy for decades. In fact, the US has done more to stop Democracy than any other country.

Not only is US democracy in decline because of concerted efforts to undermine it by the wealthy, but this is also projected around the world with the US attacking and destroying foreign democracies.

So it is a cover up and it has been going on a long time. The US is not the country it portrays itself to be and that takes a universal effort in our media to help project.

Is this newsworthy is not the question. Who determines what is newsworthy is the question.

  • Whatever party is in power has a lot to lose from ranked voting and nothing to gain. This will make this reform very hard to pass. I live in Alaska and we have ranked voting that narrowly avoided a repeal this last year after passing the previous year.

  • Good point, I guess the question becomes did he know that it was being used for this and did not stop it or if the intent was for illegal activity to begin with.

Below is a summary of the trial

It is clear he knew what was going on and facilitated these transactions regardless. So this is not like Signal unless Signal has intimate knowledge that criminals were using said service and got a cut of their illegal dealings

It appears the intent was there from the beginning. Furthermore there is no doubt that it was being used illegally as it was operated with the vast majority of content being illegal drugs. This is not an example of someone who got caught up in illegal dealings through no fault of their own.

I think my original statement stands and pardoning him is definitely showing that the two-tired justice system is very real. I strongly disagree that he deserved this pardon and it was clearly political rather than being based on something like merit or reform.

  • Not sure I would agree he served his time. How many people who purchased drugs through his dark web network overdosed. Last time I checked if a drug dealer sells heroin and their customers die they are considered culpable.

This reeks of a two tier justice system like usual. If he had been a minority selling drugs on the street and had several people die from overdoses they would be serving a lot longer than ten years.

  • I like your sentiment, but a two party system inherently uses third party votes as spoilers. It is common for the dominate party to support a third party to peel away votes from their major opposition.

One solution to this is ranked voting. Of course many of our politicians recognize this and have already passed laws at the state level to bar ranked voting under the pretense that it is too confusing for voters.

  • I totally get what you are saying. I think it would be cool to know who actually drafted all these up. It is clear Trump did not. Understanding who is writing these and who is actually calling the shots in the Trump apparatus is paramount to unraveling the truth about what is going on.

I think it is past time to keep pretending the President is the one who makes decisions. It is clear there are a lot of people that the American public does not even know that are the real policy makers.
