Sorry I wrote that in a bit of a hurry so I took some shortcuts in my words. Yes, refresh rate isn't the same as framerate.

You know you can just turn the feature off if you don't like it, right?

Not if it's the TV of a random person I am visiting. First time I noticed it.

The thing is, why buy a 600Hz TV if you're going to turn it off immediately? That's why I (as a rule of thumb) didn't bother with TVs that advertised with 200/400/600Hz modes.

Wow I really thought I was the only one (okay not literally).

Any show would look like reality TV and the added interpolation just made movement a blurry mess. I steered clear of 60+Hz TVs until this very day because I hate them so much

Yeah, global feed seems to be a bit of whack-a-mole sometimes. I appreciate your added context and I think it would have been a good conversation starter if you started with that. Rereading my comment, it sounds a bit more gruff than I intended.

I think the difference is that in Formula 1 there is also team based skill and personal driver skill at work. With reality TV there is little of that what makes a sport a sport.

If you like the drama I highly recommend the Netflix series Drive To Survive. It catches some of the juicy drama and highlights some internal workings of the sport not clear at first glance.

There's nothing wrong with your comment except it shouldn't have been a comment but just a fleeting thought until you scrolled on. Not every thought that comes up in your head needs to be made public.

I never really liked his attitude on TV when races were discussed. Typically Dutch to consider themselves the expert after racing one season, and then provide the weirdest takes saying they know the drivers very well. As a Dutch person myself I hope I'm allowed to say that.

I didn't follow F1 so closely 10 years ago so I wasn't fully aware of the circumstances. I'm not happy about the retirement; this probably means he will have to stick his face around more often to stay relevant.

Minimum requirements means that it will need that hardware to hit the target FPS at target resolution.

It doesn't mean you can't run it on anything lower spec. Just that it's not guaranteed to work at the target FPS and res.
