Yeah I actually stumbled across it while looking into some of the things mentioned in this thread. It came in handy when it was time to separate out the one large mkv into multiple smaller files. Unfortunately I can’t have it spit out individual episode files right away, because I have to manually open the mkv first see which chapters mark the beginning of a new episode

That makes sense. So makeMKV to give me some useable media files, and handbrake to encode those useable files down to a more reasonable size?

I actually have Handbrake, but I’d only used it to transcode (re-encode?) single files. Sounds like I need to read the documentation a bit more

Are they an admin? The account seems to be registered on another instance. But in any event what they said is a super common misconception about the case. I guess you could make an argument that it’s spreading misinformation, but only if you’re being very literal and ignoring what most people think of when they hear “spreading misinformation”.

If you’re referencing the Tucker Carlson defamation suit, that’s not a correct reading of the decision.

This is the best way in my experience; I was able to get rid of over 20 filing boxes of books this way while helping my folks downsize their collection. Yeah that’s basically my view as well. I don’t take issue with posting “old news”, so long as it’s presented as such. That’s awesome! My friend group tried out DND in a similar way, none of us had ever played before so one stepped up to DM. I’ve become a DM myself since then, almost begrudgingly at first but I’ve really come to enjoy it. But if I may ask, what got you to set up a DND community before playing yourself? Were you inspired by communities on other sites, or by following campaigns (Critical Role et. al)?
