  • It's a small enough industry with expensive enough parts. There's probably exactly one and a half companies that make cases for uses like this that provide the furnishings for every natural History museum.

  • What's great is that if I've learned anything from these chronically online streamers/grifters is that Pool will never give up the ghost and we'll get more and more desperate and hilarious content by him as he spirals.

  • But it's a million across all states, and statistically most of that million are in NY and CA, especially because that's where younger people who are more likely to know about a show like this live.

  • Unfortunately, these shows aren't why it's a coin flip. The tim cast channel has just over 1 million subscribers and the recent episodes struggle to crack 100k on the best days.

The reason the election is a coinflip is cause there's swathes of the US that are barely connected to any form of media except fox news and spend their days in ultra-conservative ultra-religious echo chambers.

Don't get me wrong, the foreign and domestic shadowy investment money is working, just not the portion that was allocated to propping up the tim cast.

  • I mean the silver lining / horrifying truth is that they aren't able to support their show with the audience they have. The movement to prop them up is losing money on it and is not effective.

  • Sure they do. I'm sure the century cutoff helps too.

If someone one would refer to the 1920s as "the early 1900s" cause it's over 100 years ago it follows logically to call other parts of the 1900s the mid and late period.

  • Cause as you get older, you realize that a lot of the hype about people being "old" is manufactured. I'm closing in on 30 and I'm squarely in a zone I thought was "old" when I was 18. But I feel like I still have my whole life ahead of me. And despite a lot of fear mongering, I still feel healthy and ready for anything.

And although I definitely feel like 45 is pretty old, I know that when my parents were that age they were scoffing and telling me "45 is not that old". I'm sure when I'm 60 I'll be looking at retirement and think about how it's actually not too bad to be 60 and it's the 80 year olds that are really old.

  • How so? I would certainly call something from 1894 to be from the "late 1800s' or late 19th century. I mean, we're a quarter of the way through this century, at some point it turns into history.

  • I think it's probably true that non-straight couples meet up online most of the time. But I also don't think that that demographic would have much sway on the graph at all. Only 7.1% of adults in the U.S. identify as LGBT, despite the skewed demographics online.

  • That's the real fear of AI. Not that it's stealing art jobs or whatever. But that all it takes is for a politician or business man to claim something is AI, no matter how corroborated it is and throw the whole investigation for a loop. It's not a thing now, because no one knows about advanced AI (except for internet bubbles) and it's still thought that you can easily differentiate images, but imagine even 5 years from, or 10.

  • Am I crazy or is 53% not a wild number? For one thing, I play multiplayer games all the time but I much prefer my best single player experience to my best multiplayer experience I would absolutely identify as preferring single player games despite probably playing more multiplayer games.

For another thing, 53% is pretty low, about half of gamers prefer single player. If anything that number should be higher cause I bet the amount of single player games dwarfs multiplayer games (this also would include single player campaigns in multiplayer games).
