Read Killing Hope, The Jakarta Method, or Washington Bullets. The US has murdered millions in a worldwide anti-communist and anti-decolonial crusade. Like the other reply said - Domino Theory.
Their staunchest military ally suddenly looks unreliable
damn they should have cracked open a history book to see how the US has abused every proxy war nation they have ever pumped money into. It's not like it's a rare occurrence. Are they going to be totally blindsided by the IMF loan conditions as well?
Pretentious and extremely liberal still fit perfectly for reddit today. They definitely aren't anti-american though. They have an unquestioning bloodlust for every US state department adversary
You live in the US which has the world's largest prison population by both total numbers and percent of the population. Is this the non-authoritarian democracy you're talking about here? We have so many people in a cycle of poverty, bad health, and prison because we all got together and decided that this is how we want to allocate resources? Billionaires, private prisons, private healthcare, unaffordable housing, and child poverty?
we have been on this site for three years before federation with the same strict anti-bigotry culture since the beginning. I wish you guys could realize how fucking wild conspiracies like this sound like to us. Like we were only pretending to be gay marxists to ourselves for three years lmao
Democracy and authoritarianism are not mutually exclusive The USA is a "democracy." The USA is also one of the most authoritarian countries in the world.
There are so many people who believe that the ideology suppressed by the government is always bad. While this is sometimes the case, this is definitely not the case for authoritarianism.
Wouldn't the government suppressing an ideology also be authoritarian?
Also can't pass up the chance to point out that the capitalist USA has the world's largest prison population by both total incarcerated and per capita. That seems pretty authoritarian to me.
There a plenty of very sensible people who have issues with NATO. If you're interested in an intro into one of the reasons why that is I'd recommend reading To Kill a Nation: The Attack on Yugoslavia by Michael Perenti.
Anti-sectarianism as in no hostile ML vs anarchist debate club style shit, and no derogatory names for other leftist tendencies. There's a lot of that in most of the larger online left spaces and it gets extremely tiring seeing the same arguments play out endlessly.
it originated as a shit posting site after reddit banned the chapotraphouse subreddit, but it has become its own thing over the past few years. Primarily it's a left unity space - communists, anarchists, etc all welcome with no tolerance for sectarianism. Still a lot of shitposting, but also in depth discussions about news and books. We've developed a pretty strong site culture as well with an emphasis on discussion (we don't have downvotes), and probably the strongest anti-bigotry rules you'll find anywhere. It is 100% not full of trolls or fascists. I think a lot of liberals who have never heard from communists in any meaningful numbers are just very confused on their first encounter with us
you're a fucking clown
