Not once the ball gets rolling, no. Plenty of Fascism has been averted through preemptive nonviolent action though. In fact, that's basically how Democracy works; Constant nonviolent vigilance keeping Fascism at bay. But once Fascism gains traction, the only thing that works to get rid of it is violence. More people need to understand this. It's like that Kyle Reese speech in the first Terminator movie.

While you can argue that coordinated acts of destruction against Tesla dealerships could be defined as domestic terrorism, individual acts of vandalism against Tesla vehicles do not fall under this definition, nor should they. Otherwise, you could classify someone like Banksy as a terrorist. Is that the kind of world you want to live in?

I wasn't being literal about there being nothing left unknown in the whole universe. Just that we've (at least in the west) culturally outgrown stuff like ghost stories and other supernatural folklore, and that the X-Files type of conspiracy theory entertainment took its place, and it's hard to enjoy now because that space has been taken over by a bunch of paranoid lunatics.

Same. I have always loved it as a fictional genre, and as a fun sort of "what if" form of escapism for life in general. We've pretty much taken all the mystery out of the world, so that kind of stuff filled that void for me for a long time. But then it turned into a pipeline to recruit people into right-wing paranoia, and now I can't really enjoy it anymore.

Right? It's really weird...

Stuff like this might actually be what unravels the Trump administration. The military industrial complex is far more powerful than any of the people Orange Julius has surrounded himself with, and they will not like taking losses to appease his ego.

Those are real positions that are appointed by every President. "DOGE" is a complete bullshit position/department pulled out of thin air to avoid any kind of confirmation and/or security clearance.

It is incredibly dangerous for a President to be allowed to invent whole government departments and appoint whoever he wants to them without any checks and balances.

I remember many years ago, there were two little girls that went missing about the same time. One was white, the other black. The little white girl just got lost and was found pretty quickly, and her story dominated the news for weeks. Meanwhile, the little black girl (I think it was in West Virginia) had been kidnapped by a sadistic couple who abused and tortured her until one night she chewed through her bindings, escaped, and trekked through the forest for days before finding help. She barely got a "missing girl found" blurb on the news. The fact that she barely got any news coverage actually became a bigger story later on than her actual kidnapping did at the time. It was infuriating.

Don't even get me started on the missing and murdered indigenous women (MMIW) phenomenon that not only gets next to zero media coverage, but also a severe lack of law enforcement attention.

You understand that Russians are just people too, right? They aren't all a bunch of drooling savages who want to murder Ukrainians or anyone else. Not sure how you can say the Russian civilian population deserves to be punished for what their shitty government does. Have you applied that same logic to your own country and its people? Or is that just something you say about faraway places from the comfort of your own home?
