  • Expected rates were obtained by participating sites using pre-COVID-19 vaccination healthcare data stratified by age and sex (Faksova et al.).

The original paper seems to be far too ineffective a methodology.

That is not an effective control; at least take the same health data analysis from the unvaccinated population. Given that even folks with the vaccine can catch less severe cases, you really need to root out COVID-19 as the cause of those complications.

  • I think the best option would just be to pull a list of local pharmacies of the internet and start calling. Or pick the next community over and try them. Hitting up a major city might be helpful, or a small town might not have the population to use up their supply.

  • My brother brought these to Christmas a couple years ago and gave everyone a handful as a present; we ended up hiding them everywhere (including in each other’s clothes). Good times

  • I think that’s my personal hold up; I got as far as a free consultation. After seeing the benefits of hiring a dietician to help manage my energy levels, I’m less reluctant because (shockingly) people who do things professionally actually know their stuff.

  • I would tend to agree that it’s likely an aspect of the reasoning for the double circle; a visual pun. I don’t know enough to dispute the Wikipedia article with evidence, however.

If that is the reasoning, I wish they would’ve done something less ambiguous, like -/c or over-lined 100.

  • Um actually…

    Latin: per centum

    Italian per cento

    Abbreviated to p. cento

Then just pc with a loop for the o in cento

Then the fraction bar came around to sub for per, the c became a circle, and % was born.

(Most of this after the adoption of Arabic numerals)

  • Heck, if you can get it into orbit, you can send another Starship up and push it wherever you want it.

And if you get them to the point where you can “mass produce” (as much as you do that for anything in space), we could be looking at a lot more science happening for a lot less.
