  • Objectively looking at our system of economics and governance has proven to not take the interests and plights of the people seriously, and is routinely highjacked by special interests to further their wealth and power at the expense of the working class and global environment.

If no fundamental change is made then ...

    millions will die.

And those in power will write it off as an acceptable cost of doing business. They already have.

That isn't a hypothetical. That is the reality of climate change on our current trajectory that our current systems fail to accept and do something about.

So to answer your question, there is no alternative people are trying to speak of. Our society is already crumbling and it is not salvageable.

So we have a choice not about alternatives, but on if ending it now would mitigate casualties as opposed to letting the train derail naturally.

At least if we willingly make effort to change we can have some control of the situation in favor of the working class or at least have solace we died on our feet than on our knees

  • I live in Louisiana as a communist. Doesn't stop me. The threat of violence is all the more reason we need to speak up when we can.

Either you die a slow death forced onto your knees in poverty or you stand up and die doing something about it.

All you have to lose are your chains.

  • We need to organize outside of the current framework. They want to play circus then let them, but we are the ones lining up in the front row to watch the show. We can just hang out in the cheap seats and talk amongst ourselves on how to bring the big tent down.

How to achieve this I don't know. That is dependant on your local area. It won't be immediate, and it will take time before there is any sizeable movement to actual begin direct action, but it has been done many times in the past and it must happen again if we are going to see change.

  • The only foreign Jewish I can see having a reason to concern themselves with Israel are traditionalists and zionists who give a rats ass about which country "owns" Jerusalem.

Outside perspective so please correct if this is misguided.

  • Yea, and I am very skeptical of a rave being held next to a prison with tanks actively on stand-by.

Hamas aren't heros, being set up by Israel to destabilize Palestine in the first place, but with Israeli citizens being reservist members of the military, something smells about this. Hamas has no gain from a strike against a music festival.

Ignoring circumstances and just calling them dumb terrorists is short sighted and is a blatant demonizing attempt by Israel to justify their continued oppression of Palestinians.

This is also one retaliatory attack by a nation of people's subjected to decades of violent persecution, being mad at water for boiling when left on a hot burner.

  • Rephrase in an edit.

The north south divide used to run from Texas across to north Caroline's coast. But the mason-dixon line shifted things.

It is complicated history and the more I read the less I can keep track of enough to make a summary of it.

  • People believe the reason TN/KY border is flat is because it lines up with the Mason-Dixon line, but people don't really critically analyse history, so KY often gets called the North even though that state is where the line began shifting northward to the Virginias

  • I just rinse all at once at the end real quick. I just fill up one sink of soapy water. Place I'm at now has a spray toggle and I love it.

When I say they let the water run, I mean running it to scrub dishes. Start to finish has the water running full blast.
