  • Now add that trustlessness is impossible and you can scratch the blockchain box for good.

You cannot get rid of trust in some form. You need entry to the system, so you need to trust its gateway. You need to trust the network to not have some vulnerability like a 50% attack. And eventually you need to trust the developers not to add critical bugs (that alone is virtually impossible) or pull off some scam.

So, since you need to trust someone, might as well choose some government regulated party like a bank or a lawyer and choose conventional and efficient tech.

  • And they all develop their own shitty app for 2FA (the lazy ones just rebrand SecureGo as their own - you still have to install all of them separately) instead of using the 15 year old TOTP standard. The latter is good enough for tiny companies like Google and Amazon but what do they know about itsec, right?

  • I just followed the note that's mentioned on the top of your link and installed the Nvidia driver as dkms package. I originally did that because of trouble with a new driver version and temporary downgrading is much smoother with dkms.

Also never had issues with the DE starting properly after upgrade since then.

  • The dotcom bubble was different. Now, everything related to actual AI development is hyped but the dotcom bubble inflated entire indexes, "new market" indexes were setup comprising companies nobody had ever heard of. It was orders of magnitude worse.

  • Well, trying to take your point seriously I guess you could argue that companies with paying customers do have an incentive to keep stuff compatible. However, also FOSS devs don't like public shitstorms by their users which should be a similarly effective.

However, you just argue based on annecodotal evidence without explaining how your examples are exclusive to FOSS.
