  • Took me way too long to figure out this stuff is called B Cache FS and not BCA Chefs.

  • Well i haven't tried Bazzite, but you're selling it really well. I agree that Mint is a bit behind in Wayland support and they should get on with it. On the other hand, none if those things are really very relevant for day to day use. As long as you stick to the software center and update manager in Mint, you won't have any trouble installing software or applying updates.

  • If you want to get started with Linux, I'd recommended Mint. It's very easy to install and will run on just about anything. The Cinnamon desktop is pretty similar to Windows and you'll feel right at home. Install Steam and start playing your games, it's that simple. There are of course plenty of other excellent options but for ease of getting started, I don't think anything beats Mint.

  • Monopoly capitalism will do that to you.

  • Obviously. I use Mint, by the way.

  • 9 o' clock? Time to get home!

  • And you can get a whole collection of games for the piece of one Nintendo game. They have a lot of kids' games too.

  • We're working on it.

  • The whole thing is stupid and pointless. Murdering people is just what they do.

  • I buy the store brand from the local supermarket. €2,99 for a 250 ml bottle of SPF 30 and it works great. I never get sunburn, even during multi hour bike rides in the blazing sun.

  • People who didn't have computers before smartphones came around, don't have computers now. For a lot of people the phone will be the first and only computer they use. As for convergence, yes, it's happening. A modern smartphone is powerful enough tu run a desktop OS. That would be good enough for most tasks of most people. Google are working to bring that to the Pixels, Samsung had Dex for a long time. But again, that will only be relevant for people who want to use computers.

  • The current move towards electrification would not have happened or would have taken a lot over without Tesla. The Model 3 really was a huge breakthrough by showing that you can build a car that people actually want to drive and make it affordable. That pretty much made all the excuses of the incumbents moot.

  • High time for Heisenberg to get his own cat. Can't let Schrödinger have all the fun to himself.

  • Americans have this weird fetish for veterans. Not so much that they would actually treat them decently, though. What people tend to forget is that these people work to maintain the exact same system that screws them over once they are no longer useful.

  • But how do you get the chicken back from the stratosphere once you've slapped it that fast?

  • Absolutely fucking not. Not because they can't but because they don't want to. They'll rather live under fascism than enact meaningful change for the benefit of the general public.

  • This is something only the nerds complain about. The general public prefer Bluetooth buds. If there was significant demand for phones with AUX, someone would build them.
