See to me and my family the ads are one of the best part, not because we want to buy any of the crap or support the companies, but some of the ads are legitimately funny, and often some new movie or show trailer is shown as well which interests us if it's something appealing.

Edit: tbf this years ads being full of "He gets us" pandering, RFK Jr bullshit, and a local Injury Attorney wearing maga bullshit, makes the ads far less enjoyable, fuck this religious and political bullshit.

A whole lot, mental illness, mob mentality, poor education, conservative ideology, religion excuses and forgives their behavior, poor upbringing by shitty parents, ingrained racism, poverty, we can keep finding the usual patterns with these people, regardless of the country.

Why do people keep assuming the crib would be in the kitchen? Or that a crib is the only place we put babies? There's basinets, bounce chairs, high chairs, play pens, strollers, car seats, and all kinds of other things where a parent can put a baby while they do things around the house, like cooking and cleaning in the kitchen.

Which absolutely sounds like textbook post partum depression going too far.

Like the other commenter I think "how fucking awful" then read the story, then wait for more details when the details are lacking.

Again, in this age of disinformation and propaganda you have to exercise some discipline and critical thinking, and not jump to conclusions, also this is the real world, and people in the real world need to gain some discipline and critical thinking abilities, because it seems far too few of us have those abilities. I mean ffs we could find out tomorrow that this whole thing was an AI generated article that didn't really happen, just like how the recent "toothbrush botnet hack" story that went viral this week was fake.

People should stop being dumb af and wait until we have all of the information, but this is also on journalism too since there's so much emphasis on "if it bleeds it leads" and other reasons to pump out an incomplete story, they should emphasize on accuracy instead and make a bigger deal out of retractions and corrections, especially in this age of disinformation and propaganda.

Love how people always jump straight to drugs, but there's a variety of mental illnesses both permanent and temporary that could cause a mother to do this.

After reading a bit deeper about this station and this antenna in particular, i have to wonder if this isn't an attempt at insurance fraud, and why I say that is that this station has been trying to repair that radio tower over the years and have had an issue with the tower going dark repeatedly, maybe they figured they could make more money off the insurance claim, or enough to replace it, and through all of the fundraising and exposure it looks like that's just what's going to happen.

Plus Hitchcock was an abusive fuck, especially towards women, and he had a movie that was considered positive about the Nazis by some, but later shot a documentary about the Holocaust that wasn't released until 2014, and two anti-Nazi propaganda films that weren't released until 1994.

Isn't this post a bit backwards, most of us on Lemmy are nerds, and probably in multiple ways, this post should be the opposite, where the nerds highlight all of the ways that they're "cool" or whatever.
