  • does Reddit have any of these tools built-in? they sound cool, but they can also be built externally (I believe an automod exists?), and I would say correctly take a back seat to bug fixes

  • we have a game mode called "Zero Rando" (no randomization) that's basically vanilla with QoL improvements and bug fixes

the Randomizer had so many compatibility fixes, QoL improvements, and bug fixes over the original game, this ended up being really useful for new first time players

since you've played before we also have "Zero Rando Plus" which is the same thing, but also includes the balance changes we've made for Randomizer

and we also have "Rando Lite" and "Rando Medium" to get started with the randomization stuff before going up to Normal Randomizer or Full Randomizer

  • to get those mod and admin tools baked in from the start

which mod/admin tools? I'm curious what the features will be

  • Everyone thinks the moderation/admin features need to be improved. I'm curious which improvements people are really needing. Whenever I see big complaints about it (beehaw, lemmy.one) I never see any specifics. Link the filed Github issues for them otherwise the feature requests don't really exist, and I'd like to give them thumbs up reactions so they get prioritized more.

Once I saw Beehaw give an actual specific complaint, and it was fixed in a hotfix (v0.18.5) within a couple weeks. Of course Beehaw never updated to that version anyways.

  • maybe, fabricating chips and soldering to boards doesn't come without environmental costs either

obviously the companies won't care about that enough to find out lol

  • Optical discs are extremely cheap, I wouldn't be surprised if it's cheaper than a 128MB chip of storage.

  • Eternal is so intense, 2016 feels slow and boring and simple in comparison. I prefer depth over simplicity. IDK about Dark Ages though, it looks slower with less mobility/verticality

  • legal limbo is the dumbest shit, it's just a company who refuses to make a small amount of money and would rather make $0 lol

  • I love the Ori games! I haven't played this game though so I guess I'm part of the problem lol

  • I think this type of party game could really shine as an open source game that's continually updated forever

  • I haven't played Life is Strange is so many years but these pictures still brought back memories. Great post!

  • Yea this sounds like preparing to make excuses and claim "no one was using it" (aka less than 1 billion users). I'm expecting it to be removed in 2026.

  • Nice, what are the specs? It would look good with a grill added.

  • Deleting friends lists seems pretty extreme for being late to verify your age? What age are they requiring? 18?

  • I think the original games could really benefit from being widescreen (more field of view), and difficulty settings (increased health and breath), and probably analog controls could help too

  • Also, they have no idea how to use it? Bullshit. If they can use Reddit, they can use Lemmy.

Mostly yes, but to be fair Lemmy was more buggy and less intuitive back then, it was 2 years ago

  • no ability to discuss bc it simply says that a “mod” did it

this is actually an option for instance admins to choose

  • like what features are you wanting?

Lemmy already has the "New Comments" sort, which is the biggest feature of forums vs Reddit

Lemmy also has the "Chat" view for comments, which is good but needs to show context with them as my feature request here says https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2544
