  • I still have my Shamu! It only works while plugged in because the battery lasts about 3 seconds now lol

I wish they still made wide phones instead of just tall phones. My mom uses big font size on her phone, but modern phones are so narrow it's a bit annoying, she liked the Nexus 6.

  • On the Pro, Quality mode is 2176x1224 at 30fps

And Performance mode is 1536x864 at 60fps

  • Yeah definitely a little bit before Win95. The 7th Guest was early 1993, and Myst was end of 1993

  • Yeah this one is actually a great title with the double meaning

  • Now we just need to wait for Microsoft to ditch Windows lol

  • I could see them abandoning Windows as it is and instead making their own Linux distro, maybe in like the year 2100 lol

  • Yeah anyone who thinks 3D games without loading screens are only possible on SSDs needs to go back and play Dungeon Siege or Asheron's Call. GTA3 mostly didn't have loading screens either.

The Witcher 3 wasn't even that long ago and it didn't need loading screens on HDDs. (traveling between the main big areas did, but I guess that's more because they didn't have an animation of Geralt taking a boat or something, everything else streamed fine)

  • EDIT: This has been hotfixed in v3.2.1, along with a new tweak for the Halloween modes!

Turns out the lighting was a bit dark for some people, and since during October the cosmetics affect the regular randomizer modes too, we will be releasing a hotfix soon. For now remember that you can use the flashlight without any energy cost, and you can also increase the Brightness Boost settings in the Rando->Visuals menu. You can also disable the memes setting entirely in Rando->Gameplay.

  • subreddit CSS doesn't work on new reddit? lol I had no idea

but if they scrap old.reddit then I see a nice big wave of new Lemmy users coming, and we're much more ready for it this time

  • There are so many ways for mods to effectively destroy a subreddit or redirect it while remaining public.

custom subreddit CSS: black text on black background

  • I feel like internet users have become so lazy, stubborn, and resistant to change. I'm pretty sure it used to be easier to get people to move to new things like new forums, Xfire, Ventrillo, IRC, ICQ, AIM... people used to try new things

  • hidden just means it won't show up in the All feed, but you can still subscribe to see all the posts from them

so this is much softer than defederation, and it's per community instead of an entire instance

  • When my Lemmy instance is down (which is very rare, much more stable than Reddit), I just browse via a different instance!
