  • Lack of decent bread in the US. Coupled with some good cheese.

  • One more overvalued trump property. Are we surprised?

  • I've got Mullvad on my Android and a Linux virtual machine for when I need a textbook that's overpriced. That would be all of them.

  • The families of those murdered in the racist mass shooting in Buffalo in 2022 can continue with their lawsuits against social media companies that they contend helped fuel the killer's racist hate.

A judge this week refused to dismiss the lawsuits against the social media companies, including Meta (Facebook), 4Chan, Reddit and YouTube. The social media companies had sought the dismissal.

Payton Gendron, who fatally shot 10 Black people at a Buffalo Tops supermarket in May 2022, was partly driven by his belief in what is known as the "white replacement theory," Erie County-based state Supreme Court Justice Paula Feroleto noted in her decision.

Pretty sure Section 230 will get this thrown out, but I'm interested in the legal arguments.

  • I'm sure this will have absolutely no effect on the election. /s

  • Once the latest generation steps up and votes, I plan on listening to the crying and gnashing of teeth by the GQP when the Dems do everything the GQP has been setting precedent for.

  • Summary:

The loudest story about American colleges is disconnected from what college students care about. Even so, the nation’s diverse, aspirational college students are trying to make college choices that align with their political values. According to this survey, they are remarkably progressive, fair-minded and unafraid of intellectual challenge. If only our politics lived up to their values.

    That gives me hope.

  • Anything is worth exactly what you can sell it for. Currently, who the hell would pay a nickel for that POS platform? Of course, I'm sure that Elon has a doppelgänger somewhere.

  • There is no hate quite like christian love. As you sow, so shall ye reap?

  • So Trump moved money around from one PAC to another, all in the hopes of juggling some of that money into his own pocket. It would be a real shame if some investigative journalist were to track down all of those different transfers and discover some of them were against FEC rules. A darn shame.

  • Did they get Mexico to pay for it?

  • So Earth had been slowing down until 2016. There have been no leap seconds added since then. Due to the ice melting at the polar caps the weight is off at top and bottom and that land has been rising, making Earth more spherical. This has led to the Earths speeding up in its rotation. They're saying we might have to add an inverse leap second, or rather just subtract one.

I'd read a few years ago, there's a particular industry that has become very dependent upon the atomic clocks that are attached to the GPS system. That industry is finance. Now, we're not talking about your check clearing for your car payment, but rather immense transfers of money. The article discussed how one or two seconds of interest on your mortgage payment is nothing, but once you start getting into corporate buyout amounts, you're talking about real money. I'm sure the money people will find a way around this issue and account for any differences in calculations. What are you going to do if one country decides, out of whatever kind of stupidity, to not add a leap second or remove one?

  • The great replacement is real, though. Whites have been replacing the indigenous people for centuries.

  • Anybody willing to bet he can't make the smaller amount either?

  • Dave's Hot Chicken would like a word with you.

  • I prefer "Dave's Hot Chicken". Large boobs, and lots of spice.

  • One of the few times I've found myself rooting for the pharma industry.

  • Somebody needs to talk to the Union busting CEOs out there. Remind them that organized labor and negotiation was the alternative to this kind of behavior. Or would they rather return to the days of having the workers show up at their home, knock down the door, and present their grievances in a more forceful fashion?
