  • The allies didn't fight the Nazis because they took issue with their ideology, but because they became a threat to their own powers. The reality is, that many people, including leaders of the time, weren't interested in helping those being persecuted, in some cases they even inspired the persecution with their own.

The U.S. and the Holocaust (BBC, PBS) is well worth watching the whole way through, especially for how it mirrors our world today.

  • Being perceived as "smart" is a privilege, and it's just as irrelevant to being anti-vaxx as all the other privileges are (in fact, many of those who someone like you might not perceive as "smart" - disabled people, and specifically autistic people, are the open target of anti-vaxx propaganda that frames us as an undesirable thing to be, for, amongst other things, not being "smart"). So I'll say it again - tons of well educated and otherwise privileged people are anti-vaxxers, and pretending otherwise isn't just classist and ableist, it's also just plain wrong and counterproductive.

  • Lets not pretend tons of well educated and otherwise privileged people aren't anti-vaxxers.

  • So.. Is this satire, or is it for real? It's getting harder and harder to tell..

  • Had to deal with it then because it was the only option, and until my late teens the only pc in the house was in the home office and it was never just left running.

Now that near silent machines are easy to achieve though, and my pc is right by my bed and on nearly 24/7, I see no need to suffer like I used to (it's also at least partly a sensory processing disorder thing, because I hear components most people never notice).

  • All joking aside, both sides are just as bad as the other, right fellow Americans?

Democrats are literally in power 🤦‍♀️😂

  • I mean, those are just some textbook autism traits (having little to no respect for authority, having no filter, and wanting to be in our own safe space away from people), which is partly why we do struggle so much to find and keep employment (but can do quite well working in an environment that actually considers and provides for our needs)..

  • both genders have issues that all stem from the same underlying problems (capitalism, healthcare, education).

How convenient of you to leave out patriarchy, which harms everyone, but benefits most men enough for them to refuse to fight against it.

  • All you have to do is actually finish reading their comment before you rush to make a reply that makes it obvious you didn't:

Should there be a hotline for both cases? Yes.

  • but then they’ll ask more and more frequently and get fat

My cat's eating habits seem to keep changing (how fast and how much she eats, and when), but I think I've finally figured out a good way to keep us both happy - weigh out the daily portion in the morning, then split that over morning, afternoon, and evening (or just morning and evening if I forget). That way she's not getting any extra but doesn't eat it all at once then whine at me all day for more, and usually has a little food left in the morning (my "evening" actually being late at night), so she doesn't wake me up as early lol

  • Not with the half black flag it isn't, that's "an"caps.

  • One of these is not like the others (throw that yellow crayon in the bin).

  • "Look at how well the democrats allow the capitalists to treat me as they ensure they can continue to exploit my labour for their own profit uninterrupted!!11"

(seriously - start by looking at those companies profit margins for a tip of the iceberg idea of just how much they are making off of your labour before you do a happy dance over a couple of dollars more they're willing to throw your way to keep you from demanding actual freedom)

But yeah, keep harping on about how represented you are in the sham they call electoral politics..

  • Lmmfao, so you're against minimum wage claiming it's a non-solution (and also that some workers must gain further education to even "deserve" it) while advocating UBI, which is a solution on the exact same level as minimum wage is - the level that still allows capitalists to exploit the labour of others for profit (except with UBI, it is the government compensating them from the tax pot, either way, it's working people paying the highest price - freedom).

Never mind that the meme doesn't offer it up as a solution to anything, but more of a bare minimum that neither democrats nor republicans will give, because, and this is the point the meme is actually making which seems to have gone completely over your head - both democrats and republicans work for capitalism, not you.

Truth is, you're just here to flex your "economist" muscles, but instead you're just spewing clueless yet confident incorrectness all over the place.. 😂

  • Ah, got it, so all our problems are the fault of those pesky workers wanting to afford to survive, and not those who refuse to function unless they're exploiting others..
    Makes perfect sense, "economist".. 🙄😂

  • I'm an autistic spoonie and this would not appeal to me at all, sorry. It just seems overwhelming and like it would require more energy to use than it would save, I also despise and really struggle with filling forms or questionnaires and stuff like that, and avoid it like the plague. And then there's the privacy aspect of such personal data I would worry about. So yeah, not for me.

But that doesn't mean it's not a good idea that's worth perusing, we all vary so widely in needs, and there are clearly others who would find it really helpful, so good on you for trying to put something out there that might make some people's lives a little easier and I wish you the best of luck with it.

  • I'm oddly annoyed at myself that this wasn't the absolute first thing to pop in to my mind when I saw this photo.. 😂

  • Also I don't doubt many are looped, so hearing a repeating pattern would make plenty sense..
