  • "preventing users from opting out of personalized ads except for in “select countries.” Reddit didn’t specify which countries are excluded, but the exceptions could include countries falling under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation."

Literally the second paragraph. Reading is fun.

  • Lol what. If people weren't buying it, they wouldn't ship it out this early and stock it this early. Anybody with basic business sense would think, what if we put out xmas a week earlier than last year? And then it sells, so they do it again and again until the sales of xmas items don't cover the cost of liquidating the the summer items.

Why would they not want to maximize sales? If there's a demand, it's in their best interest to supply.

  • Prosecutors recommended to not pursue charges against Gaetz due to it being unlikely they would get a conviction. Not enough evidence and the two central witnesses lacked credibility. His ex claimed to have evidence proving his guilt and then a year later her attorney said it was good prosecutors decided not to charge him as she didn't have evidence to prove a crime.

  • Maybe you should read it. You do understand that electromagnetic radiation and ionizing radiation (which is what this symbol means ☢️) are different right? Their phones aren't radioactive, they emit electromagnetic radiation, similar to how a heater emits thermal radiation, and a speaker emits acoustic radiation.

  • But it's a nothing comment. Water has an LD50. It's 90ml/kg. LSD has no known LD50 and has not been the sole cause of any known death. Drowning in it would not mean you died from LSD toxicity, you would die from asphyxiation. Sand doesn't have a legal dose but can still kill you. But it wouldn't be from sand overdose.

  • I mean it makes sense. Do something related to a movie that's getting a lot of hype and people are bound to watch. A podcast I listen to did 6 2-hour episodes on the Manhatten Project earlier this summer. They always planned on doing it but I'm sure when they learned the movie was coming out is when they decided to start prepping and releasing episodes.

  • Right but the premise of the movie would no doubt garner interest in related topics and content creators most certainly have made videos/podcast episodes/etc that coincide with the general theme of the film recently.

  • Well it's a good strategy for them. Look at all the middle eastern countries that have had their governments undermined and destroyed through US military might. Who fills the power vacuum in those countries now? Religious zealots.

  • If you pay the donation you get the tax write-off, regardless of whether you donate through a grocery store, directly through the charity, or through your paycheck. It's on your receipt and you can claim it. The store cannot legally claim the tax write-off that you made because it is not income for them, they are simply holding the money.

Now in this case where they are donating a portion of the sales, this is what's called a commercial co-venture, and it's a regulated activity that usually has a written arrangement to protect the non-profut. While the business does get the tax benefit since it counts as income, if you were already planning on buying a Gatorade, it doesn't benefit you or the non-profit to buy it elsewhere just to "stick it" to the store.

  • It was an act passed through congress with overwhelming support from both sides and co-authored by Republicans and Democrats. Bush signed it into law just like the president does with most acts that pass with a vast majority of support.

  • Fahrenheit: 0=cold, 50=mild, 100=hot
    Celsius: 0=moderately cold, 50=dangerously hot, 100=dead

It makes no difference to me if the boiling point of water is 100°C or 212°F, if I see it boiling the pasta goes in.

In a scientific context Celsius and metric in general are superior without a doubt. But to live my life Fahrenheit works just fine.
