  • Of course not, that's ridiculous and you know it.

This case could've easily been used to challenge the previous finding that they had no obligation to tell the truth as an entertainment company, but Dominion chose money instead. If you're happy with them getting a slap on the wrist as opposed to a real chance of forcing a change in operations at Fox then that's on you. I choose to see the reality in that Dominion chose greed over doing something meaningful in court when they had a rock solid case.

  • He's really not though, he's just on another platform doing the same thing. He's not actually suffering any consequences for his actions and the person taking his spot isn't any better.

  • Not really, they took a big payout and Fox is doing fine. Very disappointing outcome tbh.

Edit: Downvoters, lying to yourself doesn't change the reality that Tucker and Fox are largely unaffected by this. Tucker can still spew lies all over the internet and Fox barely noticed a drop in profit for the year. I don't understand why we're suddenly okay with large corporations only getting a slap on the wrist.

  • It's unironically me sometimes and I hate it

  • Yeah, that's why I said "at least" because I'm sure there's earlier examples but that was the largest recent example.

  • You're probably right lmao

  • you’ve disproportionally raised the bar for a random internet Comment.

Asking for easily obtainable proof of a slanderous claim is now an unobtainable standard, folks lmfao

because I have a real world adult life.

You've been in this comment section for six hours lmfao

My brother in Christ if you want to simp for your instance

Nobody that replied to this chain is from lemmy.world, swing and a miss lmfao

you don’t HAVE to harass literally anybody in the area to do so.

Replying to comments is not harassment, it's how forums function. The block button can be found on any comment, you click the three dots to pull it up if it's not there already in the app you use. It's free to use and you're welcome to it if this is "harassment" lmfao

I'm pretty sure you're trolling at this point though, so kudos for being as convincing as you were for that long lol

  • people chose to forget so that they don’t have to change their world view.

That's a good point, as a Sys Admin I've ran into a few coworkers like that myself. Not sure how somebody could deny it at this point tbh though.

  • Not that I disagree with you, but I was more responding to the fact that they said they can't find anybody else reporting about it. I was saying that there's not much to report because this is kind of old news. I understand why more news agencies aren't picking up on this, like, government agencies known for sucking up data are still sucking up data. -shrug-

  • I can’t find many other articles discussing this.

We've known they've been doing this since at least Snowden, what's the story?

Remember that government agency that hoovers up all our data? Yeah, they're still doing that. Only they don't have to try as hard because they can just buy our info instead of snooping for it (but they're also still snooping).

Maybe it's good to remind people it's still happening because apparently everyone forgot we were told they've been doing this, for a while.

  • Doubt. The mod logs are public with Lemmy so you should be able to link to the comment/report that got you banned to show us you were banned for what you said you were.

  • Use a different, simpler system.

DnD and PF are on the crunchier side of the spectrum for ttrpgs, as much as I love PF2. There are tons of great systems you can learn all the rules to in a matter of minutes and run awesome campaigns in without all the crunch. Personally, I love the crunch but it's not for everyone so you shouldn't force it if it's not for you. Simple doesn't mean dumb either, a great example is the newer system Shadowdark. Dungeon Crawl Classics is another solid choice, there are a bunch of others though. Like the indie system The Electrum Archive or TEA. The rules are free, simple, but engaging (with inspiration from Morrowind and Dune so bonus points from me).

    Don't confine yourself!

  • I don't even know what to say, just completely disgustingly unhinged behavior. The dehumanization of the houseless needs to stop.

  • Europeans seem to vastly overestimate Americans ability to afford to do that.

This part, I'm struggling to stay afloat I can't splurge for a intercontinental trip. I can, however, drive my car for a day or less and be in a completely different biome/culture. Each state is essentially it's own country with it's own laws and cultures. An overarching American influence but each place is definitely unique to itself.

I like to learn a language not so much out of practicality though because you're right, we can speak to everyone here with English. I like to learn a language just for the mental benefits of training my brain and learning more about another culture.

  • The first rule of financial literacy is

Not taught to most Americans, unfortunately.

  • Gotcha, I misread your intention, my bad. I agree it's less than great but unfortunately anywhere there's people those types will eventually find their way. As we found with the centralized platforms and are now finding in decentralized platforms too. I like it a lot more on the decentralized platforms though, since they're all pretty much contained to those instances that we don't federate with so I never have to see them. I'm a NIMBY towards TERFs, racial supremacists, and anybody remotely similar lol

  • They have a ton of lgbtq, socialist, poc empowerment, and environmentalist newsletters you can sub to as well. Not sure what your point is, if you don't want the toxic newsletters don't sub to them? That's like trying to disparage Lemmy as a whole because exploding heads exists.

  • Is this some UTC joke I'm too PDT to understand?

  • Thanks for the reminder on the universal link! I'll edit the links I posted earlier.

    There is also !worldbuilding@lemmygrad.ml

Yeah, but it's lemmygrad, that's a pass from me 😬
