  • That athlete represents the government in an official capacity at a world event. You're making it out like they somehow don't represent Russia.

I can see by your downvote but failure to reply that you believe the athlete does not represent Russia. Then why have country distinctions at all?

  • The rules are set up to present a ladylike/gentlemanly behavior in the face of good sportsmanship. There is nothing ungentlemanly or unladylike in refusing to shake hands when a sword tap will suffice.

There is also nothing unladylike about not wanting to touch the person who represents your rapists. If the athlete representing Russia doesn't like that treatment, they can choose to participate without representing a nation.

There are simple solutions to all of these problems, but the most important aspect is she had an agreement with the official that a sword tap would be appropriate and acceptable beforehand. Downvotes mean nothing without a response. I can sign up for 10 accounts and manipulate the votes too!

  • Being forced to shake hands with the representation of the people committing war crimes against your family and nation is an awful standard.

"Okay, we know he raped you, but it's been 17 months. Just get over it and shake his hand."

  • The iphone SE.. Was that not clear? The reason the jelly 2 isn't the same size is because the stuff like a headphone jack takes up space and iPhone users are willing to go without that stuff for the sake of the owning a phone by that brand

  • That is the crux of Trump's downfall: not paying his bills.

Pay your fixers, pay your muscle, and pay your mouth pieces. You can all still screw the little people, but the movers and the shakers must get paid and paid WELL.

If Trump had offered a nice sum, call it 50,000USD to the security guard, he probably would've made sure the footage was erased. If somebody's covering your ass, don't spit in their face

  • There comes a point in a person's life when they have to confront their parents or that crazy relative about their insane and damaging beliefs. This is that time for millennials. The boomers had it easy and they robbed us in our infancy. I don't care which side of the aisle you side with: Trumpism is damaging to the entire nation, and cannot be allowed to go any further.

  • The most basic driving like long stretches of highway shouldn't be banned from using AI/automated driving. The fast paced inner city driving should be augmented but not fully automatic. Same goes for driving in inclement weather: augmented with hard limits on speed and automated braking for anything that could result in a crash

Edit: I meant this statement as referring to the technology in it's current consumer form (what is available to the public right at this moment). I fully expect that as the technology matures so will the percentage of incidents decline. We are likely to attain a largely driverless society one day in my lifetime

  • Even for a religious person, being smart within their company is usually preferred. Priests and the like take great pride in their knowledge of faith and understanding of wisdom. They may take a vow of servitude and condemn themselves to poverty, but they do so with the apparent knowledge they will be rewarded for their sacrifice. That is playing the long game, which takes smarts. "Understanding God's love" and the required knowledge to be a part of a faith, you know?

People prefer to be smart over poor, when those are the only two options
