I read some protestors are protesting against racism.

There have been counter-protests which have vastly outnumbered the supremacist protest. It's great to see.

Basically this was triggered by a false rumor that recent child murders were committed by a Muslim immigrant, where in reality they were an unstable 1st generation (so fully UK born and raised) and from a Christian family. It was basically the tipping point for a lot of pent-up racists. A former MI6 agent has pretty much confirmed this rumor was probably started by a propaganda group, likely Russian, and likely a response to a more left-leaning political party recently being voted into No. 10.

All you need is an ice pick and a steady hand.

I doubt they'd block alternate launchers as they seem happy enough hosting them on Google Play.

Side-loading will be safe as Android being open is its whole deal. The EU are forcing Apple to be more open so there's no way Google wants a target on their back.

My wife is used to FLauncher and will probably get annoyed if I change the Shield's interface (again...) but maybe I'll try it out on the Google TV Chromecast I have for holiday trips.

Just gotta stick FLauncher, SmartTube, Jellyfin, and Stremio on it and it seems solid.

Where I live there was a period in the 80s where people got obsessed with 'roughcast' and decided to start covering their houses with sharp rocks. I'd be scared of falling against them while drunk and tearing my face open.

I swear there were like 3 guys in the 60s or something that loved brutalism so much that they spent the next few years going to major cities to convince mayors to build the ugliest, most ghastly buildings that would remain as eyesores for decades to come.
