  • That's how fucking stupid they who are enforcing this garbage are. Word processors have for decades allowed searching for "whole words only", which would stop these words from being flagged. The tech exists, they're just too stupid and lazy to implement it.

I have the same complaint against anyone using banned word lists, including Reddit, who does the same damn thing.

  • Even if Tesla drops Musk as CEO to appease public opinion, he'll remain on the board of directors, because he owns so much of the stock.

I urge you to (while ignoring the Pink Floyd theme) read https://welcometothemachine.co/ to understand how we can't strip billionaires of power by attacking the companies they are associated with. Because, they all own each other's companies, they all sit on each other's boards, they're all in bed together. Musk doesn't only own big parts of Twitter, Tesla, and SpaceX, but many other big corporations as well. They all do.

  • Not only this, but the machines used to process food shed plastic too. Which I think people are even less happy to hear, because this means simply buying food in glass and paper containers doesn't make much difference.

  • Not yet. Reddit and Lemmy are my only social media, I don't use anything else--I only see content from other sites, like TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc., on Reddit or Lemmy. There are a couple of klunky things about the Lemmy interface that bug me, which I've complained about already. And, the Lemmy communities I'm more interested in are not active enough to satisfy me. Lemmy still feels empty, but it's getting better.

  • I've transitioned to digital books. I still have a few physical books on my shelf that are special to me, but digital books are just too damn convenient. (And, yes, unless apocalypse, and unless battery dies, I know.)

  • Fuck the entire Trump cabinet and anyone who ever supported them, and continues to support them, Musk included.

There's no damn way I'm siding with Musk because he's poking at Trump. They're both the worst humanity has to offer.

  • I stuck my foot in my mouth about this dress. It was about a year later, and I didn't realize it had been proven to be black and blue, and I said something snarky when someone I liked said it was black and blue. I was so sure it was gold and white, I made an ass of myself.

  • Back in 1989 I had a co-worker friend who went to Jamaica and returned with a custom coffee mug with my name on it. It wasn't a cheap printed one, the letters were formed out of clay. I don't use it every day anymore, because I'm afraid it will break, but it's in my rotation. It reminds me that some people used to care something about me, for some reason.
