There are "classes" (syntatic sugar over prototyping) that allow OOP in JS, so I don't think why people would dislike it for the lack of OOP, unless they're using ES5.
If you really want to know, Kbin comes from the polish word "karabin", which was the original name of the project. Also the reason why communities are called "magazines".

Oh, definitely. Fucked up shit brings fucked up people. As for me, I'm never getting nowhere near those sites again. My curiosity is strong, but not that much.
The KBin awards are akin to Stack Overflow's award system, which I don't mind, it's a small fun system on the side. Reddit's award system, on the other hand, can go back to the hell pit whence it came.
