  • Buy something older or lower-end. Most high-end flagships these days run hot.

  • Because people can’t seem to understand the difference between ‘criticizing stuff while also being aware of and acknowledging its benefits’ vs ‘mindlessly bashing something whenever you get the chance bcuz tribalism’.

Hell, even Marx praised capitalism for the immense wealth that it has generated for the masses, which so many so-called ‘socialists’ don’t seem to understand.

  • Hardware:

They make high-quality hardware and I like that they’re trying to do something new and interesting with foldable tech, but I’ve never been a fan of their Exynos processors and foldables (imo) have proven to be little more than a gimmick that sacrifices far too much on durability for minimal benefit to most people.

    Software:

I hate bloatware, and I’m not a fan of their crusade against open bootloaders.

  • It’s honestly amazing how quickly a lot of developing countries have embraced this stuff. Hell, even roadside hawkers in a country like India accept instant bank transfers. It’s ridiculous that the US is so far behind.

  • Too bad the tankies here refuse to hear a single bad word about the CCP, with some even making this sound like ‘Trumptard fear-mongering’.

In reality, the BRI has shaped up to be little more than debt-trap diplomacy, powered by bribes to influential politicians (borderline autocrats) who’re willing to sell their countries for a dime.

  • I assume that’s still their goal with this, but they needed to start working on this yesterday; it’s already a bit late.

  • That’s exactly my experience with Reddit lately. All the worst sort are left on the bigger subs, making the community absolutely insufferable. If spez’s goal was to make me not use that website, then…well, he succeeded.

  • They won’t stop till they push even Android users to AM.

  • I’m no MAGAnut, but calling Joe the ‘greatest progressive president’ is a joke and a half.

  • …not even gonna lie, I thought it had something to do with machine learning at first.

  • I know it’s easier to say than do, but ignore ‘em. I got myself into some pointless argument a few days ago, even though what I should’ve done was block the individual and move on.

  • Sadly, you’re right; Lemmy’s quality will most likely tank just as hard as Reddit when it goes mainstream.

  • I’ll admit, I’ve had far better experiences here than I have on Reddit; Lemmings aren’t as prone to argue on nonsensical topics as Redditors are.

That being said, there are still more than a few nasties here.

  • That’s how they collect the surplus they have right now. Without it, they could be in much direr straits if funding were to be suddenly cut off.

  • Brilliant! Here, you deserve all our public transport budget!

  • Trains when a techbro tries ‘reinventing’ then

  • Crap, I didn’t realize the option was back again! The app looks so much better now.
