  • On a desktop or are you using Artemis or something? It loads fine for me in Firefox. You can try going through the profile of firebreathingbunny, who is the author, I just don't want to ping them.

  • Link works fine for me?
Getting rid of hate & extremism is the bare minimum that I would expect a platform to moderate on. Reddit moderated very differently in keeping that in addition to banned those who speak out against it.

  • If you let people and their comments & threads stay that are downright conspiracy levels of bullshit and insults towards other users then that's not really maintaining a moderate view towards normies.

  • https://kbin.social/m/modernmisogyny for example, which is basically a TERF community by one user, which I tried to PM to ernest some months ago.
Or here a somewhat recent thread for Starfield which still hasn't been removed: https://kbin.social/m/starfield@lemmy.zip/t/468548/Alternative-sources-for-the-No-Pronouns-mod-for-Starfield
You can check the user profile for even more garbage too.

There was also a user here on kbin that was constantly trolling. He seemed to have quit a month ago though, or at least stopped commenting.

  • And I don't buy games out of the bottom of my heart to give those companies more money. So why should I care about their reasoning, as long as they aren't inherently unethical? In the end it's a win / win situation that we can both benefit from. I personally cannot compare Valve & Microsoft here, because Microsoft acts in a way that is ultimately not a win situation for me as a customer anymore. Google started similarly, but then went to shit in how they behaved, hence why I degoogled myself for at least the majority of their services, especially their search engine. If Valve continues to benefit me as a customer, then I as a customer will continue to benefit Valve. That's our contract, or mutual agreement.

  • I do see a severe lack of moderation in the Fediverse though. Everywhere are extremistic views being spewed by far right & far left users and mods don't give a shit, even after reporting those people. Insults stay, conspiracy bullshit stays, pure bigotry stays, the most heinous hate stays, and more importantly those corresponding accounts stay.

It really makes me want to use it less and less. I already blocked Lemmy.ml instances but it's such a widespread issue in many of the largest communities. If you combine that with the already pretty low engagement on those various platforms then I don't really see the point anymore.

  • And the latest version is Unity based. Also, I'd say the only thing that prevents Enterbrain to do a similar move, is simply that they don't even have nearly the same significance & reach as Unity. RPG Maker always was a niche product, even if it a popular one at that. But you don't really see big commercial game releases that are based on it like you do with Unity.

We'll have to see how this Unity thing plays out, but if this isn't going to be the engine's downfall, then it will become a new norm for others to follow.
