  • Press your index finger and thumb into the back end side of the cats mouth, this will open it, shove the pill towards the back of their mouth against her throat with the other hand and then let go. If it was far enough back they will swallow it.

  • Mass & gravity are still way easier to understand on a fundamental level, especially since everything has a certain amount of mass and thus affects and is affected by gravity. It's a much simpler concept. ("Natural") magnetism is (so far) very material specific and I don't think I've seen a good explanation as to why exactly. Magnets certainly behave very differently than other materials and that causes this mysticism in people when they think about magnets. Given the still ongoing research into magnetism and related things like superconductivity there's certainly a lot still to learn.

  • You think your personalized feed is not manipulated like this either? Or imagine someone new to the platform, he's gonna immediately get bombarded by propaganda and disinformation, clicks on the videos, and then the personalized feed will feed them more of the same, radicalizing them even further.

And no, I'm not and I don't. You're clearly not getting the topic and why it is a problem.

  • I genuinely miss the 90s. I mean, yeah, early forms of internet and computers existed, but not everyone had a camera, and not everyone got absolutely bukkaked with disinformation. Not that I think everything is bad about the tech in of itself, but how we use it nowadays is just so exhausting.

  • It's like reality TV & soap operas in text form. You can somewhat easily spot the AI posts though, which are plentiful now. They all tend to have the same "professional" writing style and a high tendency to add mid sentence "quotes" and em dashes (—) which you need a numpad combo to actually write out manually - a casual write-up would just use the - symbols, if at all. LLMs also make a lot of logic errors that may pop up. Example from one of the currently highly upvoted posts:

He pulled out what looked like a box from a special jewelry store. My heart raced with excitement as I assumed it was a lovely bracelet or a special memento for our wedding day. But when he opened the box, I was absolutely stunned. Inside was a key to a house he supposedly bought for us. I was taken aback because I had no idea he was even looking for real estate. My first reaction was one of shock and confusion, as I thought it was a huge decision that we should have discussed together.

As I processed the moment, I realized the house wasn’t just any house—it was a fixer-upper on the outskirts of town. Now, I get that it can be a great investment, but this particular house needed a ton of work. I’m talking major renovations and repairs, and I honestly had no desire to live there.

Aside from the weird writing (Oh jolly! Expensive gifts! How exciting!), this lady somehow realized & identified this house, location and its state just by looking at some random key in that moment. Bonus frustration if you read through the comments who eat all of this shit up, assuming they aren't also bots.

  • By bad actors. Do you not remember The_Donald being practically at the top of everything on Reddit? Do you not understand why far right videos on YT & TicTok have so much traction? Everyone gets fed their own reality that completely contradicts with what is happening in the world, which is causing massive divisions among our societies.

  • I fear they're so mentally castrated that the threshold for this is almost nonexistent. Being subservient slaves is ingrained into their culture and most would rather die in the meat grinder or through hunger than actually standing up to their regime. They're all free to prove me and the world wrong though.

  • If it suggest me things based on various factors that can be manipulated, then it is inherently bad.

And user control would be to give me filter options. Videos are already categorized & tagged, so why not let users specify which categories & tags they want to see - and which one they do not? Much better than some obtuse and brain dead algorithm flip flopping while trying to figure out what I want to watch.

  • I'm asking myself this question for many years. Especially since YT videos are categorized to a degree. Give users control over keywords, both to like more of them, and to filter certain ones out. Obviously not perfect either because not everything is going to be properly categorized & tagged, but it would be so much better than the current mess where some brain dead algorithm tries to figure out what I like.
