  • It's denying courts the right to enforce rulings. So when Trump passes a law, order or a way to fund them, the Supreme Court can say the new law is unconstitutional or illegitimate, but can't do anything about it.

They can't indite Trump, or do anything that requires public funds.

  • This is why I never feel safe downloading a program from Github. I need a recognisable domain name website that google or duckduckgo has picked as the product.

No it's not perfect, but it feels safer than a random github.

  • Apparently the Israeli Finance minister gave a big speech about how they're letting just enough aid through to avoid war criminal status, and Netenyahu started a new military push.

Seems to have caught the UK, France, amd Canada off guard, and ticked them off. Even saw an article from The American Conservative saying Trump should stop supporting Israel, and he's currently pretty focused on winning Europe back over.

  • They only ever had them because it was good for neo-liberal capitalist business.

They're not real allies, which should be obvious by how quickly they jerked their policies away on the whims of a dictator.

That shows they don't actually have those values, just see opportunities they'll take if they think there's money and political benefits coming.

  • I think they were... They did a bunch of massacres and political repression didn't they?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_massacre

Wasn't that part of the betrayal that started China's civil war? Says there they killed hundreds of thousands of Communist supporters and unionists, turned women into prostitutes... And that KMT party members denounced Chiang Kai Shek (who became leader of the RoC dictatorship) to Sun-Yat Sen, the pro-democracy candidate.

Pretty sure the RoC factions of the KMT sucked pretty bad... Then later the communists sucked less than them.

The violent Chinese nationalists weren't the good guys. Western nations supported the subsequent military dictatorship in Taiwan because it was pro-Capitalist, anti-communist (and also anti-democracy).

It was only when Chiang Kai Shek died in the 1970s that the pro-democracy movement in Taiwan felt they could start properly without getting killed.

  • If you had four to six months to learn and practice you might be ready enough, if your trip is sooner I wouldn't recommend it.

Do you have a friend who can dedicate long two hour session to it? If so you might get it in ten hours or so of practice.... But they'd have to be a good teacher (be able to teach you how/when the flywheel is taking up the momentum).

  • Like imagine if the Confederate States fled to Hawaii and claimed to be the real America... And the world took their side and swore to protect the "Confederate States of America" on Hawaii...

Shit wouldn't make sense. You'd be like "WTF world? What's up with that?"

  • Doesn't have to be expressed via the KMT though. That was the party that ruled Taiwan as a military dictatorship for 25 years after all.

At the very least they should change the country's official name to something that isn't "The Republic Of China". Leaving that as the official name just feels like trolling.

I just don't think I'd fight for in a "We're the real China, no, We're the real China!" based war. If so many Taiwanese identify as Chinese it seems like something The West should stay out of. An extension of their civil war.
