  • I’m swiss and not a EU fan, but I’m really proud of how they are standing up and facing these huge companies.

We’ve clearly reached a point where these companies need to see that they can’t do everything they want.

Let’s fight for reparability, interoperability and privacy!

  • I can’t agree, but I can agree to disagree with you.

For me as long as you’re not paying for some form of art, you’re not supporting the artist, so you’re stealing.

But I’d be the first one to download a torrent if something I paid for kind of disappeared like this.

  • As long as you have a way to download the data that ain’t a problem for me, but if one day Sony or EA closes without giving the update data to be available for everyone that would be a problem.

Still I don’t see the advantage for them to only put the early stages on the disc. Are they saving money this way?

  • It’s good that people are worrying about this. Although, I haven’t heard of any disc game not being able to be played. I guess it would only happen if Sony/Microsoft go bankrupt or decide to close PlayStation/Xbox game updates servers.

It ain’t likely to happen but it’s important to be able to preserve games for the future as they are part of history just like paintings.

  • That’s why I’ll keep buying physical for the games or movies I love.

The only question I have is what’s gonna happen as game discs are just becoming an access token to download the game and its updates.

I’d have nothing against digital games or movies if you didn’t see such behaviors.

  • I’m fine with this as long as I’m still getting FFVII part.3 on PlayStation.

To be honest I don’t really care about exclusives and I think it should just be for first party developers.

Although I wouldn’t mind getting Gears of War on PlayStation.

  • I can’t read the article, but I ain’t surprised by the fact that no one wants to pay more than what Apple is already billing.

They are clearly trying to circumvent the rules just like the bad company they are.

Still I have to admit that their hardware and software is quite good even if I ain’t a fan.

  • Except getting more user information, I don’t really see the big advantage for Sony so it’d be interesting to know why they want to require a PSN account in countries where you can’t get one.

Also I’d want to know why you can’t get one in some countries.

  • I loved the world, enjoyed its story but didn’t like the combat as it felt a bit messy and I felt overpowered as a hacker.

After two playthroughs, I’ll probably do the expansion at one point but I don’t know if I should play it from one of my playthrough or from a new save.
