  • I can clearly see this around me.

Not only women, but also elder men, who are really educated but lose their lucidity in front of fake news on the web. I guess it’s also because they come from a time where you were not swimming in fake news.

And sometimes, even if they think it might be fake news, they just send it to you to get your opinion on it.

  • Sudo dnf remove plasma-welcome removed the package but it's still appearing as intalled in the package center. I'm gonna try rebooting and see if it solves the issue...

Edit: rebooting solved the issue so thanks a lot!

  • I guess I really wasn’t into the game as I wasn’t emotionally involved at all. Not like in Last of Us 2 when Abby and Ellie are fighting. I was feeling their pain and anger and was really destabilized as if two of my close friends were fighting.

  • Thanks for the really good and helpful explanation!

To be honest it’s often difficult to understand every Linux subtilities, but the community is really great and compensate the lack of information you’re getting inside your distribution.

  • Thanks for the answer. But then it means that people get a distro with a DE and install a WM on top of it? Or do you have distros coming with just a WM? What's the advantage of a WM compared to a DE?

  • I love Gnome even if the fact that I have to add 2-3 extensions to make it work to my taste bothers me a little bit.

It should have a bit more options by default, while still retaining the beautiful UI.

I’m trying KDE in a virtual machine a little bit, but I guess I’ll never really explore its capabilities if I don’t daily drive it.

By the way, could someone explain what’s the difference between a WM and a DE?

  • I upgrade Fedora from one version to another as doing a clean install would be a lot of work. Maybe I’m just too much of a rookie, but I don’t see the advantages of a clean install.

Even if I installed Fedora on a new computer, I’d just use my clonezilla backup if possible. But I haven’t tried it so I don’t know if this would work.

  • Could someone just give us a quick summary of what LTT is accused of?

Do we know if there is a court case about it? As this would be more interesting than just a release from the company auditing them?

Personally, I clearly don’t know so much about LTT, but I love their videos.

  • Peertube is great. And while the lack of an app is a problem, the lack of having a way to make money out if your videos is a bigger one for creators.

For now, they have to rely on Patreon or an equivalent.

  • I’m swiss and not a EU fan, but I’m really proud of how they are standing up and facing these huge companies.

We’ve clearly reached a point where these companies need to see that they can’t do everything they want.

Let’s fight for reparability, interoperability and privacy!
