  • Go get this book.

"Discover What You Are Best At" by Linda Gail. It's a series of self tests you can do in half a day, followed by a long list of jobs that use your particular skills.

I got the book when I was on worker's comp after an industrial accident. It pointed me at a job I'd never even considered. Turns out I really liked that job. It let me use my brains and paid a decent salary.

Think of it this way. A nurse and a hair stylist both need good people skills and dexterity. Two totally different types of work, but the same skill set.

If you have a job that lets you wake up on a rainy Monday and not hate going to work, you've solved most of your problems.

  • I have to apologize to Keifer Sutherland and the creators of 24.

When they did an season where the President of the US was actively working against the country I threw my hands up and declared the show had jumped the shark.

  • When Ronald Reagan proposed trickle-down in 1979, opposing candidate George W. Bush dismissed it as 'voo-doo' economics. Later, Bush was happy to push for it when he got the nomination to be Reagan's Veep

  • From 1945 until around 1975 it was a real thing. Then the combination of Vietnam War spending, the Oil Crisis, and the economic policies of Ronald reagan destroyed it forever.

  • Decision fatigue is a real thing. Ask anyone who sat through three tests in one day; even if you have studied the material, it's hard to focus after a while. It's easy to fill our day with minutia that distracts us from the impostant issues.

  • So, you kept saying I was wrong, but couldn't prove that Douglas didn't support the candidate who was the best of a bad lot, and helped me prove that MLK used a careful strategy that included not getting into a fight over LGBT+ rights.

You've been done since this thing started, you're just to obstinate to admit what anyone could see.

And, as Isaac Asimov pointed out, the one who has to resort to insults is the one who has run out of ideas. But since you started it, it's unconscious privilege on your part to attack immigrants.

  • If you don't own a good sized freezer, buy one. They aren't very expensive, and it will save you thousands.

I've got a 5 liter pot and plenty of pint sized containers. I make a huge pot of chili/stew/soup and freeze it. I've got dinners ready in five minutes. You can buy premade crusts and make your own pies and freeze them for later.

Similarly, you can cook a whole chicken on Sunday, and have chicken for the week. Chicken sandwich, or chicken tacos, whatever.

I'm not recommending this brand; just posting to give you an idea of cost.
