  • I’ve been thinking about this as well for TTRPG notes and info for myself and others. I have a few raspberry pi laying around and it should be pretty easy to get something like Mediawiki (the same thing Wikipedia uses)some other wiki engine running on one.

  • Yeah they are popular, they do a really good job of making content available that would otherwise get scattered across a dozen services if it’s even picked up at all. Yeah, the creators deserve to get something for their work but the free market will not provide a good option.

  • And I’m pretty clean each time too so it’s not exactly collecting a ton of dirty. If it’s used for something other than me fresh out of the shower then it goes straight in the wash. Otherwise it gets washed when I do laundry each week.

  • I feel like this repo is bait. The license is bad and violates the TOS but if they can convince a judge that it’s legally binding then they already have over a hundred targets who have forked it. They really messed up by including the shoutcast source and some Dolby code, although the Dolby stuff is questionable.

  • My dad had a bunch of these when I was a kid. Super durable and great as back scratchers or just a stick to play with. I bought a few after finding them online and love having them.

  • I watched a video on methods for detecting AI generation in images. One of the methods was comparing the noise on different color channels. Cameras have different noise in different channels while AI doesn’t. There is also stuff like JPG compression artifacts in other image formats.

So there are technical solutions to it but I wouldn’t know how to automate them.

  • I did this back in 2008 using virtual box. Had a dual boot system and got curious as to whether or not I could boot the Linux partition as a VM. I don’t remember it being difficult to do but this was before EFI and secure boot so those may cause trouble. I’m not 100% sure I used virtual box either :/

  • Same happened to my wife. Had long haul covid and now has a very hard time learning new things and retaining information for short periods. It’s been hard but she has learned to use better note Tekkno and task management apps to help.
