It's like Windows if it was made by people who care about making a good operating system instead of by a big corporation who only cares about milking the crap of its users for money by collecting their data and forcing unwanted features down their throats.
Linux is based on open source code, which means the inner workings of the system are free knowledge and is freely accessible. Any development team is free to use it as a base and modify it or build upon it as they please. There are different teams making their own version of Linux with different features. They are called distributions, or "distros" with different features that appeal to different users. Even individual Linux users will generally have far more control over their operating system than Windows users.
Linux used to be not very user friendly and only approachable by more technical savvy people. Now however, there are distributions out there that are simple and approachable for almost anyone willing to learn a little.
It's like there is a significant overlap between the people who allow organized religion to dictate their world views and people who believe in anti vax conspiracy theories or something.
For me anyway, my loss of interest in the DOOM franchise began when they started dehumanizing the Doom Marine and started stacking fantasy/medieval elements to the main protagonist and his arsenal. They turned a futuristic space marine who just got punished for punching an officer into some sort of fantastic demigod thing. It got really bad in Doom Eternal already.
I like my DOOM games when it is a battle of sci-fi military forces against demonic forces. Human technology versus the hordes of hell. But now with Dark Ages Bethesda turned the franchise into a more violent and edgy Skyrim.
The stupid thing is that the unified West had no reason to fear Putin's hollow threats until Trump started doing everything he can to destroy what makes the West strong. He wants to roll over in front of Russia and make the US Putin's bitch.
The West won't roll over like him though. They'll strengthen their alliances against Russia and will become something far stronger. It just won't involve the US anymore.
Good news. Whoever still thought it was still possible to get some slack by kissing Trump's ass are now fully caught up with the reality that he is an unreasonable prick.
Now the real decoupling of economies from the US can begin.
The production costs don't account for the ungodly amounts of money they sink into marketing to brainwash their consumer base into thinking that their phones and other products are worth paying so much for.
Marketing used like that is an insane waste of wealth and productivity IMO.
