Vlc is basically what it is because of ffmpeg and the likes, which are... Corporate supported :p
That said ffmpeg didnt start that way, but at one point it was and vlc quickly jumped into popularity because of it and it quickly supporting new formats ( like mkv back in 2003/2004 ).
Youre not wrong, but its more complex than that xD

Very true, but in due time verizon could also be bought. Hence fcc should technically block it, like the nvidia and arm merge.
Or microsoft and activision ( which was heavily contested ).
Both were heavily contested worldwide

Sadly, it was just a proof of concept, writing random bits the size of the actual data to the plc. We swore it would result with the project being assigned to our company, but the other company's project manager quit soon after and we lost all contact with the company.. :(

I made a poc for a company that wanted to replace the way they programmed their pick and place robots that were powered by... Excel.
( the excel made an connection to the plc and wrote the data. It took 30+ minutes, while the poc took less than 3s xD )

Im not saying you are defending them, youre just missing a lot of stuff that happened around ai and nvidia in your comment and whatever genai we have now isnt all because of nvidia. That its locked to nvidia is because of what they did before ai hit public eyes.
Current genAI also has not much to do with nvidia besides programs being based on cuda which uses nvidia's tensor cores for neural processing. From a technical standpoint, nothing ai has to do with nvidia, they just played smart ( and unfair ).

Youre missing a lot of events in that timeline tbh :p
Nvidia forcing developers to use cuda enabled hardware, hard locking their tech to their hardware, the crypto boom of 2016 and 2020, ...

Theyve done a lot of stuff to gamers and datacenters over the past years that made them as powerful as they were when gpt3 hit the public eye.

True, i was using w10 + wsl until this week. With my new pc i want to switch to linux full time as i did with my laptop. Photoshop and lightroom are the only apps i have issues with atm ( office will follow... ) and dont want to go back to windows full time for them alone. Hence the dual boot in case i need them :p

Thanks, that doesnt fill me with a lot of hope, but thats why i have dual boot set up with linux (mint) as main os. Ill try wine regarfless before going to windows though

How well does a windows vm run in linux? Does it have hardware acceleration?

Nice. Id instantly stop using those apps. But it looks like it just checks if dev settings are enabled. You can disable them again after unlocking bootloader you know :D

Unlocked bootloader should be fine. Now rooted android is a whole different beast...
