  • Qualy is at eight so not really a big deal, no? And tomorrow it'll be seven for the race start. It means in both cases I can spend the rest of the day doing other stuff, so I wouldn't mind every weekend being like this.

  • If Lawson replaces someone at AT it'd be Tsunoda. Honda partnering with Aston Martin means they're not going to keep someone just because they're brought by Honda. And DR is like the golden PR boy, they need him when they rebrand to Hugo Boss.

  • Yeah Rottweilers are herding dogs, they herd children too and just love leaning into you. Herd dogs also protect their pack so they do need training and an owner who knows what they're doing on top of extensive socialising.

  • Like the other commenter said, most people love it or hate it. It's a very long book series with books that are very large by itself.

Erikson gives you a character POV of that moment in the story. There's no exposure of what is going on and who is who. I love Malazan but I heavily struggled with that hard at first. Some people say you need to wait till book 3 before you can like it. And while by that point some of the rougher edges in the style are smoothed out I think it's perfectly fine to say you don't like it a couple chapters into book one.

Personally I liked it about a quarter into book one since I enjoyed the history being promised, and the very original magic system that I still didn't quite understand but was fascinated by.

  • I mean, if racing involved spending time with Jos losing his shit on you, it makes sense you're not looking to do it for a long time.

That their mother was great at it, but there's no pro circuit where there are other role models obviously doesn't help either.

  • I get that you feel this way, very occasionally I still feel that with some narrators or authors.

I had to put in conscious effort with my first audiobooks too though. All that I need now is to clearly understand the narrator and have nothing I need to actively focus on. So it's so easy to do while cleaning, cooking, driving, working in the garden etc.

I can also just put them on when going to bed and set the timer to 15 minutes. I accept that I might have to rewind a couple of minutes. I heavily prefer it over holding a real book in my hands and ruining it in my bed.

The biggest downside for me is that I dislike some narrators, which is annoying when you know you like the author's work.

  • If you like long audiobooks and high fantasy try Malazan. Fair warning that if you like it, it increases the effort you need to start your suspension of disbelief for all other books. At least it did so for me.

  • None of those apps are the original and official app. Which is pretty obviously what this was about. I used to use Vanced and it never worked as easily as everyone seems to imply, and I never could get it to cast. Vanced is no longer available on the PlayStore btw, and the same can be expected for every app that tries to offer YouTube content, modified.

  • Oh wait, the pits are ok, the strategy is logical. Time for the drivers to fight each other on cold hards.

Edit: this is the thing I dislike about Max' dominance. Other drivers have given up on winning so hard they'd rather fight their teammates for a chance at a podium. And I do cheer for Max as he's Dutch but has a Belgian mother. (And I wish good things for Ferrari because of Schumi nostalgia and because Red cars are pretty)
