If Russia takes out all the Internet cables like the news is saying. How much of that traffic can be re-routed to satellite?

    1a. that'd be a lot of cables to take out

    2b. many cables are terrestrial

    3c. Putin would tick off other BRICS members and other countries

    4d. ship-to-ship—maybe get some airplanes and balloons involved

    5e. American Navy attacks Russian vessels cutting cables, and Biden tells Putin to stop this folly

    The others convicted of rape — filmed twice during separate assaults — received suspended sentences of one to two years. Four were identified as German, while the others have Armenian, Afghan, Kuwaiti and Montenegrin citizenship, reports said.

    A 10th defendant was found not guilty, while another accused who faced charges for aiding and abetting and filming the rape, was acquitted in April.

  • I support Ukraine, but FWIW I don't think Russia has killed 40 000 Ukrainian civilians these past few years, and many of the soldiers who died were former civilians who were conscripted.

  • Even if you convince enough people to vote third party that Trump wins, does that help Gaza? No, it makes the situation worse.

    In the short term, yes, but when the next Gaza occurs—and if history is any guide, there will probably be another Gaza—the Democrats will think twice.

    Besides, in 2020 if 1 million Californians who voted for Biden instead voted for Trump, the 55 EVs would still go to Biden. Presumably if any self-identified "political progressive" in California votes for Harris, wt:thon will probably be voting out of ignorance. Ditto, say, one in a very red state.
