Fuck Nick Clegg. Fuck that guy into the fucking sun.
Back in 2010 he managed to surf a wave of genuine optimism from young British voters who wanted something less shit, and found himself in a position where he could have brought about some genuine change for the better.
Instead that cunt hitched his wagon to the fucking Tories, who straight away announced an increase to university tuition fees. And who then went on to spend 15 years raping and pillaging the country like only fucking Tories can.
When I met my wife she was living in Thamesmead, a suburb of London that was built in the '60s to be a grand example of modernist city planning, with roads at ground level and raised walkways for people to get around.
Trouble is, the place has no real town centre. And over the past fifty years most of the walkways have crumbled so they've either been demolished or barriered off. These days you have to drive to get to, well, anything, and it's fucking depressing.
As a kid I guess I did, because I was borderline libertarian and something of a prick. But these days I'm older and a little more aware of people who aren't me, so these days I don't think about it at all.
I would prefer if rich people paid more, but that has no real bearing on how much I pay.
I'm one of the lucky ones, where Lloyds' app will not work with GrapheneOS. At all.
Its kind of a pain in the ass, but ultimately its the only app, so its OK. The only other issue is the lack of NFC payment support for my bank card. But I have magsafe case and wallet, so carry my card with my phone.
My wife occasionally sends me TikTok videos she finds interesting. I don't have the app installed because I can't be trusted to not end up scrolling for hours, and TikTok's website is pure dog shit. Because they want you using the app.
Anyway, turns out yt-dlp works perfectly with TikTok 👍🏽
I have a 2011 MacBook Pro running MX Linux. It's no match for my M2 Air, but it's still surprisingly useful.
Was up the council recycling centre the other day, looking at some of the dumped computers, wondering just how many of them could still be very useful.
Blind doesn't always mean no vision at all. Wearing a device that's always looking where your head is pointing means having a device that can describe your surroundings to you. And as they pointed out, it can magnify what you're looking at so you can read it.
Not massively useful for the current vision Pro, I'm sure, but future devices, smaller devices could be very cool.
I've been gifted a few old Samsung S3s for using in our workshop at work. They're all the same model, but it turns out that one of them runs a different processor. So I've been able to put LineageOS on two of them, but the third refuses to unlock.
Meanwhile, I moved into the world of Android a few months ago after having iPhones since 2009. Within half an hour of taking delivery of my Pixel 9 it was running GrapheneOS.
Apple are shithouses under Cook, but they're not that bad.
Yet.
