well, what makes it hard to debug this is that it only happens from time to time random. most of the time it works. so to debug it i would have to each time check the debug console before sending a comment to catch it maybe sometime.
i didn't really wanted to start with MITM's just to debug this lol. hoped that other users maybe have the same issues and its maybe a current bug or glitch on lemmy.
i experimented the last 1-2 weeks with a similiar concept and coded my own client for reddit.. and can say.. yes..reddit extremly hard limits you. they even banned my ip when i open reddit in a browser on the same device. similiar app named "Stealth" gets your ip banned by making requests in a second..its just not a good way to bypass reddits thirdparty api shit.
i already tried a similiar client that does the same and reddit bans your ip after a short time. they HUGELY rate limit you for doing this. also i try to get away from reddit.. reddit destroys itself currently more and more so fuck them. no thanks.
We mentioned early this year that we want to both make Reddit simpler and a place where the community empowers the community more directly.
..and because that we took away the power from our communitys by banning moderators of communitys, closing down communitys, and forcing users to be our bitch who does everything we ask them to. also we didn't listen to our communitys at all and actively lied and ignored them.
did you had those issues with lemmy.world? because i had the same issues with jerboa and other apps on lemmy.world. seems to be an issue with the instance not apps.
no need for clicking. if you saw it, it did execute code that stole your cookie (atleast on desktop..dunno about how it is in apps). they tried to steal admin accounts wirh that.
probably will die every minute now. it's a mystery to me that it is still alive. either reddit has forgotten about it or dunno. some people speculate that the dev is maybe talking with reddit about a deal and that's why it's still alive. but who knows.
since i joined lemmy recently, i see more and more of them popping up :).. so i'm sure sooner or later we will have the same variety we had on reddit.
