I know that's a joke, but seriously, getting an abortion or having a miscarriage hurts like hell and isn't a good alternative.
Birth control can be a lot better, but most of what modern science can do is just trick the body into thinking it's pregnant when it's not with hormones or copper (which makes it toxic for sperm and eggs). So it's not going to fix everything and there are many possible side effects that can be quite frustrating to deal with.
And you can't just say no, it's a systemic problem that could be solved with walkable cities, better public transportation, stretching breaks at work, eliminating or greatly reducing subsidies for corn and processed foods, and other stuff. We have to consider every step food takes from its source to the shelves, and all the reasons citizens aren't able to be more active or afford foods that could better support an active life.
All things that are certainly achievable if we all take responsibility for community health instead of wailing on individuals.
I tried to use adaway but I can't do root and I already use a VPN. 😠Thankfully I use NewPipe x Sponsorblock and ublock origin in Firefox so I'm usually covered.
Yeah something about induced demand and forcing people to mobilize by car because everything is spread out so much and not having dedicated bike paths or bus lanes or really any reliable public transportation that could reinvest in the community well-being...
It kinda makes everyone both have to drive and have to deal with traffic and poorly maintained infrastructure because the costs of maintenance are not equally shared between rich and poor communities, it really exacerbates the issues.
I'm all for you driving, provided, I can take a train/tram/bus or just walk, because that would be preferable.
Honestly, I think higher ed is more at risk because the people on the top keep skimming for more funds, leaving everyone below struggling. Pay your faculty, staff, and working students (grads and undergrads) well.
Oof, while the EU pressures Apple to actually improve their products with USB-C and replaceable batteries, the British government fumbles again. Seriously, E2E is a basic requirement for most companies and should be standard across the board. All this clamoring to try to detect CSAM just stinks like government surveillance and a threat to everyone's privacy, and the US is no better.
Also the UI system would be less in debt if alleged embezzlement of the funds from those at the top didn't happen so much. And also, so what? It keeps people from literally starving, seems like accruing a bunch of debt is a fine trade and the fix is not to continue to let people starve.
Hail Satan!
