  • It’s not fear mongering. Trump is an aspiring dictator. Why would this come as a surprise to anyone is beyond me.

Around 47s mark in this video Trump says that Hannity was asking him if he would be a dictator and Trump answers himself by saying only on day one. Plain as day. What’s most concerning is Hannity never even mentioned the word ‘dictator’ the question was about whether Trump would use the presidential office to seek retribution. Trump is saying the quiet part out loud again.

  • Yeah. Companies shouldn’t have any responsibility about selling a potentially lethal drug to the general public. That infringes on my freedom and I won’t stand for it!

I say that Panera should triple the caffeine and if people keep drinking it it’s their own fault.

Take some responsibility people! Companies should be able to sell products that kill people with impunity, if they can’t then the terrorists and communists have won!!!

  • You’re right we can’t.

What we can do though is make educated guesses about the biological structure required to support the thing we call consciousness I.e. a brain.

A mollusc does not have a brain so it’s reasonable to conclude it is not conscious in the same way as humans.

Now if you’d like to argue that the biological structures contained in a mollusc still are capable of containing a complex consciousness I’d be interested to understand that hypothesis and your evidence.

  • I implore you to prove animals have a rich inner world filled with emotions as you’re describing.

Observing behaviour that you think is ‘inner life’ is not satisfactory evidence to prove that the fish have a level of cognition required to experience complex emotions.

To suggest that a mollusc has an ‘inner life’ is unscientific and goes against our current understanding of living organisms.

People tend to way over anthropomorphise animals.

  • Kelsey Grammar has always been a bible bashing whack job.

Just go look up his late night interview where he talks about how he randomly opens the bible to answer the question ‘how long will I live for?’ And is satisfied that god answers him by saying he will live to 160 (or some other ridiculous figure I can’t remember).

Seriously he thinks the bible is a magic eight ball and god is guiding what page it turns to.

  • Whenever people tout Space X as an exemplar of private efficiency my eyebrow twitches.

They wouldn’t exist if not for the billions spent through public funding of R&D at NASA.

Space X also can take risks governments can’t. Imagine if NASA blew up rockets as often as Space X? The Republicans would gut their funding even more then they already have.

  • I never said they don’t have extremely high rates of being sexually assaulted - you did and then you proceeded to argue against yourself.

If you read the document you linked though, you’d see that it actually supports the decriminalisation of sex work because this would reduce the amount of violence experienced by sex workers.

It also says that the proportion of men who are violent against sex workers is quite small and those men are serial offenders.

Again, stop listening to conservatives on this and actually read the documents instead of trying to find things to support your own point of view.
